I mix a little dishwashing liquid with it as a surfactant. Sometimes a second application is necessary for particularly tough weeds but overall, it works pretty well. Sure beats toxic chemical defoliants. **Q: Is it a disinfectant?** A: The CDC recommends this cleaner. I'm using it now and the smell is awesome. This stuff gets things clean. I did test it out with a black light. No glowing area where I cleaned. **Q: Can it be used to thin tung oil?** A: I have not used this product in that way but I did some research. I understand that this citrus solvent predominantly comprises limonene, a chemical extracted and purified from orange peels. I found that citrus solvent is recommended for use in thinning tung oil. Limonene is a hydrocarbon that is miscible with tung oil and has a small vapor pressure that allows it to evaporate after applying. I encourage you to search "tung oil citrus solvent" yourself. My understanding is that this product is a substitute for citrus solvent.
