Nice to have
This is what I pick up as I walk out the door to head outside. I live in the country and we have numerous uninvited guests and this helps deter most of them. Great value, built well, and used frequently.

Segunda compra
La compré de nuevo porque la otra se me quebró pero desde que la compré por primera vez la compré de nuevo, ya que es la única que me gustó y es más fácil de ponerle todo el equipo de gas y de balines, me encanta por siempre.

Umarex XBG .177 BB Gun: Affordable Choice for Sight Practice and Casual Shooting
The Umarex XBG .177 Caliber BB Gun Air Pistol is a budget-friendly CO₂-powered air pistol aimed at beginners and casual shooters. Below is a critical review that breaks down its build quality, performance, accuracy, ease of use, and overall value.1. Build Quality and DesignPros: The XBG is crafted with a high-impact polymer frame, making it lightweight and easy to carry for extended periods. Its compact design is ergonomic, with a grip that fits comfortably in most hands.Cons: While the light weight might be comfortable, it can work against users, as the lack of heft makes it difficult to keep steady during firing, which can amplify issues with trigger control. The build can feel toy-like due to the plastic body, and the absence of a metal slide or blowback action might detract from the realism expected by some users.2. Performance and PowerPros: Powered by a 12-gram CO₂ cartridge, the XBG offers a decent velocity of up to 410 FPS, enough for close-range target shooting. It’s capable of semi-automatic firing, allowing users to shoot as fast as they can pull the trigger, making it enjoyable for backyard plinking.Cons: The lightweight build amplifies the long trigger pull, which can feel stiff and challenging to control, especially for new shooters. Over time, the trigger pull can become tiring, and CO₂ efficiency tends to drop quickly, especially with rapid firing. This, along with the drop in CO₂ performance in cooler temperatures, can make it inconsistent over long shooting sessions.3. AccuracyPros: The XBG performs well within a short range (10-15 yards), with fixed sights that are effective for close-range targeting. For basic shooting or plinking, it’s accurate enough to keep groupings relatively tight.Cons: Due to its light build, it can be hard to stabilize, which affects shot consistency. The long and somewhat heavy trigger pull also impacts accuracy, as it can cause unintentional shifts just before firing. Beyond close range, accuracy diminishes, and the fixed sights do not allow for adjustments, which limits the ability to fine-tune your aim. The lack of a rifled barrel further hinders precision.4. Ease of Use and HandlingPros: The XBG is straightforward to use, making it ideal for beginners. Loading the 19-round magazine and inserting the CO₂ cartridge are easy processes, and the trigger mechanism is simple to understand.Cons: The long trigger pull is a significant drawback, especially for those who prioritize ease of handling and smooth shooting. The heavier pull makes it challenging to fire accurately without pulling the gun off target. Combined with its low weight, this can lead to a frustrating shooting experience for users who are less accustomed to trigger control.5. Maintenance and CO₂ EfficiencyPros: Maintenance requirements are minimal, with only occasional cleaning and lubrication necessary to keep the pistol functioning well. The fixed slide and lack of blowback reduce internal wear, which helps with durability.Cons: The CO₂ cartridge provides limited shots before power starts to wane, especially if you shoot rapidly. The lightweight build and long trigger pull also mean you may end up using more CO₂ cartridges than expected, as it’s easy to fire off rounds quickly while adjusting to the trigger pull.6. Value for MoneyPros: The XBG is very affordable, making it accessible for first-time buyers and those seeking a basic, fun plinking pistol. It’s a reasonable option for casual shooting without a significant investment, and the 410 FPS velocity is respectable for its price.Cons: For those looking for realism, durability, or a more comfortable shooting experience, the XBG’s limitations in weight, trigger control, and accuracy may feel like compromises. It lacks some of the features found in slightly higher-end models, so while it’s budget-friendly, it may not meet the expectations of users with more experience or needs for training.Final VerdictThe Umarex XBG .177 Caliber BB Gun Air Pistol is a fun, lightweight option for casual shooters and beginners. It’s easy to operate and budget-friendly, making it suitable for backyard target practice. However, the lightweight, stiff, and long trigger pull and lack of advanced features might make it feel lacking to those who want a more realistic or high-performance air pistol.

Great BB Gun
This gun is fantastic and shoots faster than I had anticipated. As you can see from my pictures, I shot at a tree from 40 feet away and the BBs penetrated both the bark and underlying wood.Look and Feel:This gun is not small by any means. With regard to size it is a true-to-life replica. The weight distribution is located mostly in the handle and allows it to rest comfortably in your hand. Although it does have a fairly noticeable plastic feel, the gun still maintains a solid build and can pass as real.Accuracy and Power:I set the gun on a tripod and marked a piece of wood at the point where my sight was aimed. I then shot and marked the point where the BB actually hit in order to measure the drop from different distances. At 40 feet the drop is less than 1/4inch. At 60 feet the drop was measured at 3/4 of an inch. At 80 feet the drop became more prevalent and measured in at a little over 1 and a half inches. At 100 feet the drop was measured as 2 inches, and at that distance the BBs also started to slightly curve with the prevailing wind. I started the test with a full cartridge of CO2.Lifespan of CO2 cartridge size:Overall the C02 cartridges offered a steady 90 shots worth of decently accurate trigger pulls. After that the depletion of air became more evident as each shot started to drop more and more. Overall: 90 decently accurate and powerful shots, 40 lob shots, and 10 shots that travel no more than 10 feet. I recorded an average of 150 shots per CO2 cartridge.Con 1:This is not a quick pour reload gun. The magazine holds 20 BBs and you have to insert them into the clip one by one. I often find myself spending more time reloading than shooting.Con 2:The magazine clip has a tendency to jam. For every 5 magazine loads I would insert I would say 2 of them ended up in a jam. At which point I had to remove the magazine, remove the clogged BB, and reinsert the magazine (sometimes I had to do this 2-3 times until finally the top BB was properly pushed into the chamber).
