Top quality and performance
Noodler’s Waterproof black is my new favorite ink. I have tried many black inks. This one is very dark, consistent, and waterproof. It writes well on medium to high quality paper and doesn’t do too badly on cheap paper either. I write with a dip pen, and I value the smoothness and viscosity. I like good line width variation and this ink works perfectly for that.I also picked up Apache Sunset for the first time. It’s fun and beautiful, but don’t get it wet! Both are a delight.

Super dark and fast drying - Great daily driver!
Bulletproof black is the best black ink. At least, in my opinion. I've tried many blacks from sample kits but bulletproof black is by far my favorite. It dries quickly, is bulletproof (water proof, bleach proof, and lasts forever on regular paper), and is the darkest black I've tried. When signing things, the printed black on the page is so much lighter than my writing, and it makes my signature even better. I recommend this ink to anyone who wants a great daily driver for a fountain pen.

Very Cool Shading Ink (Southwest Sunset) - Somewhat dry.
This is a review of Noodler's Ink "Southwest Sunset" which used to be called "Apache Sunset," a way cooler name that died in the PC wars.I got this ink because it has a reputation as being one of the better examples of a shading ink. And it definitely lives up to that reputation. Every letter (character) you write will have a mix of color from yellow to orange. Funny thing is, I'm not really a fan of shading - I'd prefer my normal writing be consistent. However, it is fun to have one ink that is "crazy" for whatever reason. This ink is "dry", meaning that it doesn't flood out of your pen and it writes a little bit "scratchier" than a wetter ink. This goes with the territory; if you want shading you are going to have some dryness. The interesting thing is that while it is called "dry", it is one of the thinnest or watery inks, in terms of viscosity, of any that I own. I think maybe it has less lubricant, which would add thickness, but that is my limited-education guess. One characteristic of this ink I think I should mention is that it is not a good choice for low-lighting writing. When you begin the stroke of a new character, the ink is a VERY pale yellow and in low light this can mislead you into thinking the ink is failing to flow. By the end of the character where the ink pools and back-fills your writing, it is a much darker orange color and the coverage is obvious. If you plan on writing in a nice cozy candle-lit cottage someplace this may not be the right ink for that scenario, your mileage may vary.I give this ink 5 stars due to its unique nature and value for quantity. I will not be using it as an everyday writer, but rather for a fun alternative that will have people saying "why does your writing look multicolored like that?!"

Great invisible ink
I’m using this with a glass dip pen, and it works very well. It flowed quite nicely from the nib, and it’s a pretty large bottle for the price. It’s definitely going to last me a while. It shows up very well under a black light and dries pretty fast. The bottle was super full (just below the rim of the neck), which was a nice surprise, but be careful when you open it so you don’t spill it. I can’t speak to how long it lasts as it just arrived today, but I’m quite happy with it!

Very Black Very Fast
I bought this with my Parker IM fountain pen, but my refillable cartridge did not come right away, so I had to use the Parker Quink Ink cartridge that came with the pen. The Parker ink was grey, and it was not very smooth, I was hoping all the reviews I had read about Noodler's Ink were true. Well the cartridge ran out of ink in about three (3) days, so I was still waiting for my refillable one. :(But, then, I had an idea, I would use the pen as a dip pen, maybe. It worked perfectly, not that I would trade my refillable cartridge in completely, but it gave me the chance to write again. I write a fair amount each day, so I use a lot of ink. When I started using the Noodler's Black (Bulletproof) Ink, I only use black ink, I was set back. This was black, very black, and it could easily keep up with my very fast writing style.Years ago I used to have a few fountain pens that I used to fill with various inks, usually purchased on sale, or through an estate sale, and I used almost anything, blue-black, India ink (my personal favorite) and even burgundy or green. I was always looking for that coal black ink I found once from a printer's shop I bought out at an auction. It ruined one of my pens, but while it worked it was beautiful.I don't use special paper, any notebook will do, I would go broke buying moleskin or anything like that, so it has to perform on the worst sort of paper available. Noodler's Black performs beyond my expectations and justifies every penny I paid for it. It is as close to that lamp black or coal tar black ink as I have found, and it flows so well I do not have to slow down waiting for the ink to catch up to my writing.I haven't officially tested the permanence yet, but I did spill a little coffee on some of my pages, and that didn't seem to matter, except the brown stain, the ink continued to shine through, perfectly black. I couldn't be happier with the ink, it is all that it was said to be, and as close as I am going to get to a coal black color and not destroy my pen.The only reason I guess I didn't give it five stars is one I rarely give 5 stars to anything, and two, it is a little more money than I think it should be, but that goes without saying, everything is more money than I think it should be. Yes I will buy it again, yes I will recommend it to my friends, and yes I plan on mentioning it in several of my blogs and other writings, but it cost almost as much as my pen, and yet I feel it is worth it, mostly.
