From the luminary and prophetic Alan Watts, an invitation to embrace pleasure, play, and connection in our ever-evolving world โIf you were God,โ asked Alan Watts, โwhat kind of universe would you create? A perfect one free of suffering and drama? Or one filled with surprise and delight?โ From the 1950s to the 1970s, Eastern spiritual philosophies sparked in the West profound new ways of perceiving ourselves, the mysteries of reality, and the unfolding destiny of humanity. And through his live gatherings and radio talks, Alan Watts was at the forefrontโigniting astonishing insights into who we are and where we're heading. Based on a legendary series of seminars, Just So illuminates three fascinating domains: money versus real wealth, the spirituality of a deeper materialism, and how technology and spirituality are both guiding us to ever greater interconnection in the universe that we find ourselves in. Along the way, readers will explore many other themes, at turns humorous, prescient, and more relevant today than ever. What unfolds is a liberating view of humanity that arises from possibility and the unpredictableโperfect and โjust so,โ not in spite of its messy imperfections, but because of them. His theories can be a little esoteric, but that just means you need to read his works more than once. He was truly a genius at bringing eastern mindfulness to our chaotic western culture. Highly recommended Just So as a starting point--as well as his lectures on Youtube. Review: Various Thoughts of Alan Watts From His Talks - If like me, you like listening to the lectures of Alan Watts for fun (I even do it while working out at the gym, especially put to some music), then you'll like this book. It is basically excerpts from various lectures that Watts delivered over his lifetime. You'll find the typical Watts themes, such as the ego doesn't exist, wealth isn't the same as money, the present is all there is, and that everything is a part of one whole. While this isn't as coherent overall as books that Watts wrote himself, this collection of transcribed speeches has a lot of great food for thought, and is classic Watts. I wish the various lectures the material is from would have been referenced. I found a lot of them by searching keywords, but it would have been easier to find the audio had the original talks been referenced. Overall, a great book.

A sweet taste
In the future, in addition to suggesting recordings of the spiritual entertainer, I will also suggest this work. It's a light but still profound introduction to the well lived life and the mindset that gets you there without the woowoo
