Good quality and breathable!
These slippers are exactly what I wanted! I purchased these after having an allergic reaction to some leather slippers and they work great. Although the other slippers I had were real leather they had some glue on the inside that caused me to have contact dermatitis and my feet got blistered and itchy. Apparently it is a somewhat common allergy to the glue but I haven't had any problems with these slippers at all! They are soft on the inside and very breathable-my feet don't get super sweaty inside. They also feel less stiff than the leather slippers and require less time to break them in. The small bow string tightens the slipper around the top of the foot and the elastic bands keep it from slipping around your foot. The heel is a little lower on the back than my leather slippers so it feels a little strange at first but when you are dancing you don't even notice it. There is slightly less resistance on the floor with the canvas and I would definitely recommend getting your true size in these-not 2 sizes down like most slippers. Good quality especially for the price!

These canvas shoes are a nice change. Quality is quite good and sturdy construction
I've never worn "split sole" ballet slippers before. I always wore Danskin's pink leather, full sole shoes for ballet class. These canvas shoes are a nice change. Quality is quite good and sturdy construction. I really like the criss-cross elastic straps as they make for a snug fit and makes the shoe stay firmly in place. Then you just pull the tie string till it's as tight as you want it and they're good to go. This is a nice feature b/c sometimes I wear them with socks on and sometimes not so you can adjust the fit with the pull string. I like the split sole (a pad of leather on the forefoot and a separate one on the heel). I don't have the greatest arches so just having the softer canvas against the middle of my foot helps me point my toes easier to get the best arch. These are a solid, functional shoe at a great price. Highly recommended!

Watch out for sizing
I ordered three pairs, all different sizes. One is up a full size, one up a size and half, and another up 2 sizes. The size and half larger is actually smaller than the full size larger which makes this all so confusing. I hope they stretch. The 2 size larger is very comfortable. I need these to dance on hard tile floors, and needed a shoe that allows my toes and feet to feel almost bare for flexibility which these do very nicely. the full sole on the bottom gives me enough support from the tile floor that my knee and calf and back no longer bother me when I wear these shoes. I tried so many different style dance shoe to use on tile, and so pleased that these work so well for me. I can still wear the smaller sizes even tho they are snug. The elastic strap across help keep the shoe in place. There are ties to tighten the width but the ties are too long. I love the lightweight yet durable fabric.

Great shoes, great price!
This is the 2nd year I have bought these for my 10 year-old's dance class. She only uses them 2 hours a week though, so I'm not sure how well they would perform for a "true" ballerina. (My daughter is on a competitive Acro team, but has to take 1 hour of ballet and 1 hour of Leap & Turns, to accompany the Acro team.) If you daughter does nothing but more ballet style classes, you might want to invest in better shoes. She is currently wearing a woman's size 5 and the SIZE 6 WOMENS in these fit perfect, with a bit of growing room. I bought the same shoes last year and she had to go up a size as well.It is nice that when they get stinky, I wash them in cold and line dry them. They don't come out clean looking, as they are very pale pink canvas, but they do smell better!

Buy this, not name-brand version!
The sizing on these are not like normal people feet sizing. Be sure to follow the sizing guide for appropriate fit. I bought these for a child who normally wears a size 4, and the ladies 5.5 fit perfectly. I prefer them to the leather or faux leather cheepies because they can be washed to prevent germs and fungal growth. The split sole allows much better definition and flexibility. The width is easily adjusted via the string on top of the toes and there are no rough spots causing callouses. I washed a few times with minimal shrinkage even going through the dryer. Much cheaper and equal, if not better, quality compared to name brands.

Its ok for the price
These are decent for not very costly canvas "ballet slippers,"They are wider than expected. Somewhat strangely, I ordered 2 pairs of "Lady's Pink Canvas split-sole" ballet slippers," to see if there was any obvious difference- one was about $10 the other about $12.50 and I could find no obvious difference between the two. I can't even tell them apart until I found some lettering inside that indicates ?price? and was able to distinguish them on that basis. They are fine for hanging around the house, but I doubt anyone would be doing any heavy duty ballet in them.

shallow in toe area and a tad bit small
They are good ballet slippers but the toe area is a bit shallow. Normally ballet shoes come down farther on the toe area but these seem a bit short there as they barely cover my toes. Not a problem, however, just different than what I am used to. Good quality ballet slipper for the price. I measured my foot according to the sizing chart and ordered the size I thought should've fit correctly. I should've gone one half size up. I am wearing the shoes and they have stretched out a little bit, but they are still a tad bit tight.

A bit tight but hopefully they'll stretch
Tried them out today and they're a bit small but hopefully they'll stretch. I am a size 8 shoe and ordered a 6 M following the recommendations here. What I didn't realize (maybe because I did 't read carefully) is that the straps were already sewed and since I like them differently I'll probably reattach them.I really like the arch since My feet are pretty arched, they fit comfortably
