Worked Perfectly
Converted a 1986 self-made music cassette tape into a digital music file — that then played in iTunes (and synced across the cloud to an iPhone & iPad). My tape had horrible cassette taping noises. The instructions were clear on how to get rid of nearly all of them, and how to do the conversion. I followed the video instructions step by step as I did so.In the end I was able to retrieve music made by me & a friend from nearly 35 years ago.A special thank you to the fellow from “across the pond” who created this device. Well done. You’ve given me a gift.

Four Point Five Stars
I would likely give this product 5 stars if I had a bit more confidence in my own ability to technically and fairly judge this very fine product. I hope, nonetheless, that it receives a uniformly high score from all purchasers as a reflection of the designer's ingenuity.

CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP
NO CABLES included as photo shows, tape player itself feels cheaper than a kid's toy.

Great while it lasted...
I really wanted to like this device. The instructions provided for setting up the player and the Audacity software were excellent. The auto-reverse feature allowed me to record the entire cassette, before processing the audio and splitting it into tracks. I was getting good quality recordings very easily. After 8-9 cassettes, hower, the reverse drive started slipping and became unusable. No problem, I could still record one side, pause the recording, flip the tape, and continue recording in the forward direction with good results. I did notice at this point that the "auto-reverse" switch doesn't really work, it will always auto-reverse and continue regardless of the switch setting. OK, I just have to pay attention and stop the tape before it hits the end and reverses. I was still working my way through my stack of cassettes and getting good recordings. Sadly, after about 35 cassettes the forward drive also began slipping. At that point, the device became unusable. And no, I wasn't overworking/overheating the device. I was only transferring one cassette per day (I DO have a life away from the computer!)I see that other users have had mixed results. Some loved this device, while others said it failed from day one. Seems to be hit-or-miss.

This worked great with my Mac
It was so easy to use. I had a different one of these before and it was on it's last leg. I purchased this one to go with my Mac and it was a breeze. I already had Audacity on my machine, so I just had to plug this in and have it search for the new audio device. Audacity picked up the device and I was able to continue to transition my cassettes to my iTunes account. I love it.

It works great!
We had old cassette tapes from when our sons were little...1981-1987. I have fretted about how to preserve them for years. This setup allowed me to put them on the computer. What is ever greater is the detailed video that leads you through step by step. You just follow the instructions and their little voices are on the computer!!! I would have been devastated if they were unreadable or lost forever. They are our family history, Thank you for helping us novices achieve this!!!
