ESR 2 Pack Paper-Feel Screen Protector for iPad 9th Gen 2021/iPad 8th Gen 2020/7th Gen 2019/Air 3 2019/Pro 10.5 (2017), Supports iPad Pencil, Anti-Glare Matte PET Film

Unlike literally every other screen protector I have tried, this one was easy to apply, thanks to the clip that lines it up with the centre of the device.The texture is not exactly like paper, but it definitely improves writing on the iPad and less finger prints appear, especially when resting your palm on the screen.The only downside is that it does make the text a little less sharp and the blacks are not as black, but I think this is a problem with all matte screen protectors. Not really noticeable when watching videos or looking at photos, but more so when reading.I don't really use the iPad for content consumption, so I'm happy to make the tradeoff to make it a better device for drawing and note-taking. This screen protector is definitely better value than the branded version!

The screen protectors arrived quickly and in good condition, which was lucky as they were only delivered in the screen protector packaging instead of being inside another cardboard box as is normal with amazon.The screen protectors themselves come with an installation tool which I think made applying it much more difficult than it needed to be. I think I’ll stick with using tape to hold the protector down one side when I install the next one. The awkwardness of installation meant that I have dust particles stuck under the screen protector now but luckily they didn’t leave bubbles.In addition to the dust (which admittedly was partly my fault), the matte effect of the screen protector does diminish the screen quality but I have gotten used to it now. Text is perfectly readable it can mostly be seen when watching video or when looking at a white or bright background.The main reason I wanted a matte screen protector was to make writing with the Apple Pencil more like writing on paper which it does well. However, writing for a few minutes scratches can be seen on the protector (they do fade with time). I’m not sure how the protector will fare with extended use of the Apple Pencil and I’m also curious to see the effect that the increased resistance has on the pencil tip over time. The protector does the job that I bought it for though.

An essential purchase - I was doing some research into which matte screen protector to get, and most of the review comparisons were for brands that I wasn't able to find on amazon uk, or recommended the paperlike protector.I took a punt on this protector, as it seemed like there was a strong product focus on install, and it was good that ESR provide 2x protectors - you get a dongle that fits into the lightning port, which allows you to line up the protector and gives a perfect fit first time. Dare I say it, it was almost... fun?The texture of the protector is fantastic, it looks good, the anti-glare is brilliant, it feels really good to write on with a stylus, and provides excellent view-ability - I don't have anything to provide a useful comparison, but there's only slight speckling if you look really close up. It's a trade off you make for getting any matte protector, for everything I've used it for so far, I've barely noticed - but have included a close up if you're curious.Great experience all around, thanks ESR!

Firstly must apologise to the company on my first review. I stated it didn't fit my iPad, but the company contacted me straight away went through all the details and determined I had ordered the wrong protector. They then sent me the correct version, next day, free of charge. The customer service of this company is second to none.The new protector arrived today and straight away it became obvious it fit perfectly. So I followed the instructions and watched the video and fitted the new protector. Its amazing, no more Screen smudges, no more glare, and, it feels just like writing on paper. Yes I got a couple of dust bubbles but live in a normal house so to be expected. Again thank you to vokka for the outstanding customer support.

Installing the screen protector was fine, the instructions were clear and I liked the use of the tool. The matt effect was lovely but within 10 mins I had a headache from trying to use it as it made everything blurry. I tried changing the setting but it made very little difference. It was like taking your glasses off and trying to use the ipad. I had purchased this for using with the Apple pencil but this is unusable as it is.Such a shame as I really like the idea of the matt screen and it feeling like paper under the pencil.Edit: I was contacted after this review and the seller was fantastic, and sent me a replacement product. Can't fault them for customer service at all.

I bought this product to have a more paper-like feel when writing with the Apple Pencil. The installation tool does not make sense as removing the protective sheath underneath the protector (which is also attached to the installation tool) means it is in the way of you trying to apply the protector. This meant that applying the protector once the sticky side of it was exposed for longer than needed to be with eventual bubbles and dust. I don’t understand the function of the installation tool? I spent an hour trying to figure out how it benefits the installation and I have a degree in engineering. Typically awful cheap yet overpriced Chinese manufactured goods. On my second attempt to install the screen protector (it comes with two) I pulled the label to remove the top film and it removed the screen protector that was supposedly ‘adhered’ to the screen underneath.It comes with two screen protectors but I reckon you’d need to buy 10 before you’d be able to get it right - amazingly stupid piece of equipment.

When using the apple pen 1st gen it really feels like regular paper

1. As expected, as all matte screen protectors do including paperlike, this protector does make the screen appear a little hazy from oblique angles while note taking. The haziness is less pronounced while watching videos which is a good thing.2. The writing experience is better than I had expected. Writing on this does feel like writing on paper or more like a chalkboard to be specific.3. The instructions for application are poorly described. I'd suggest you look up the tutorial provided by ESR on youtube. They do provide two of these in case you mess up once.4. A little imperfection can lead to one edge of the protector to touch the edge of the ipad. It can lead the protector to lift around the edges when using a cover. Carefully clip off the edges with a sharp pair of scissors if needed.5. It uses the Japanese origin PET film used by almost all major brands selling paperlike matte protectors. Therefore the experience shouldn't be much different with similar results on the visibility, texture and wearout of apple pencil tip. But the price is very reasonable and no wearout has been noticed as of now. I'll update if I find any.6. If you can spend more, you may opt for bellemond. But these are fine to be honest.Edit: After a year of use the pencil tip seems fine and hasn't worn out or anything

Protector ziet er goed uit. Het matte ziet er ook goed uit en werkt fijn tegen de zon. Schrijven met een Apple pen is prettig maar niet als papier. Het aanbrengen is te doen maar door stof blijven er bellen

Allora premetto che la pellicola è stupenda.Però devo avvisare. Io ho comprato e restituito l’articolo dopo averlo installato. Banalmente perché?Quando ho installato la pellicola, a procedimento apparentemente finito, sembrava di avere una pellicola completamente normale e di qualità ’ scadente.Avendola applicata assieme a mio padre e avendo seguito tutti i passaggi bene, ero convinto di aver comprato una cosa di poco valore.In quel momento ho chiesto la restituzione.Dopo diversi giorni la pellicola si inizia a staccare, arrivando ad essere quasi inutilizzabile. Allora ho deciso di staccarla del tutto e mi sono accorto che, in realtà, era una copri pellicola.... e la pellicola vera era sotto.Detto nelle istruzioni, che per altro ho tenuto, non era spiegata questa cosa, non in modo chiaro.Vi consiglio quindi di fare attenzione prima di criticare il prodotto perché io devo ammettere che ho sbagliato e la pellicola (3 in confezione) è alla pari nei quella della Benks che avevo acquistato tempo fa qui su amazon e che ha il costo di 13 a pellicola.
