Jiaogulan teaor gynostemma is super healthy for you
Jiaogulan teaor gynostemma is super healthy for you. I drink it for a couple months now and definitely see the benefits. Gynostemma herb is an adaptogen, helps you with stress, anxiety, balances energy. I noticed that I do not crave bad food anymore, my energy level is up, I sleep better. I drink around 4-5 cups per day.The taste is bitter at first, but not bad. I am used to it now and don't taste the bitterness at all, it even tastes somewhat sweet.Tip: do not use BOILING water to brew this tea....It will be super bitter.Oh and If you live in NY, go to Brooklyn's Chinatown on Avenue U and this tea is there for only $3.99 per box. Here is address 1241 Avenue U, Brooklyn, NY 11229They also have a bunch of cheap fresh produce and since I am a vegan, I buy a lot!!!!I remember buying it even cheaper in Manhattan's Chinatown, like for $2.50 but unfortunately i do not remember the store..

Bad Taste but Good Heath on the Cheap
This tea is great for the price. I tried the very popular "Longevity Tea" which tastes much better but I can't see paying over $17 for the 20 tea bags even though they are much stronger than this tea. This tea is weaker but you can beat the 40 bags (they can take it) for all their worth to get the max out of them. All in all the Gynostemma teas work wonders for most people and I have to have this stuff. It gives me more bang for the buck than Reishi, Rooibus,Shilajet or the caffeine laden Yerba mattes. Gynsostemma tea is a fantastic adaptogen and I don't enjoy the taste but I down it every other day because I know it works like nothing else for me.

Not Palatable
I was interested in this tea for its health benefits so I purchased it. Seller did a great job of packaging/delivery of product and I looked forward to checking one health benefit of the tea for lowering my blood sugar. Tested before drinking the tea, then afterwards . . . sugar tested thirty points higher after consuming. Sure many will think this is not a valid test since I have not given the tea an opportunity over a period of time to show positive results, but there are some teas I have consumed which resulted in immediate drop in blood sugar or does not raise or lower the points.Another problem other than the off-putting taste was that I started feeling nauseated half way through the cup of tea. It is possible there are long term health benefits from drinking this tea such as an antioxidants (linked to improved immunity, effects of aging, faster muscle recovery etc.), adaptogens and Saponins (a class of substances that help the body self-regulate, a key factor in diabetes, high blood pressure, ulcers, hormone imbalance and many other ailments), cardio-vascular function, high blood pressure, cholesterol, heart attack and stroke, immune system, cancer and insomnia. Sounds great on paper, but difficult when taste is not palatable and nausea occurs before tea is finished.I plan to mix this tea with some others I have in hopes I can drink without nausea and the bad taste to see positive results in the future. If I change my mind about this product, I will make revisions. I am glad I did not pay more than what I did for the product.

Good product
I personally do not drink this tea but I buy it for my parents. My parents are happy with this tea and I will keep buying it for as long as they want it. It has done them wonders for managing their diabetes. Keep in mind that it is very very bitter tho. Some people can tough it out, other not so much. So you should probably take that to consideration.3-2-16 still buying it and parents are very happy with it.

Updated Review- this is Jiaogulan & Ginseng
I'm updating my review on the very strong taste because I figured out how to make it quite tasty without white sugar. 1. Leave teabag in mug of water no longer than 2-3 minutes & squeeze bag. 2. Add a small pinch of Stevia- or the micro-spoon provided in a stevia bottle. 3. 1/4 teaspoon to 1/2 teaspoon raw honey. = Quite tasty! Ginseng is not pleasant as a tea (although it's very health supporting in multiple ways) but Jiaogulan alone (gynostemma herb) has a pleasant sweet taste.I think perhaps the company in China calls it "100% Jiaogulan" because to them or their province that means gynostemma & ginseng. I understood Jiaogulan to be Gynostemma only due to US companies representation. So I'm keeping my box & drinking everyday. :) It gives me a boost of energy & clarity, dissolves the brain-fog issue I have (not curing it I guess but helps in the handling of it).

This Tea is Bitter but very good for me
This herbal tea is very bitter so i steep it with other teas, and it's bitterness is blended with other flavors that way. It is highly antioxidant and i must say I feel much healthier and happier since drinking this tea now for about 30 days. It must be the tea as nothing in my life has really improved, but my outlook is better and i smile a lot. I'll update that in another 60 days and see if it holds true.

Bitters... they are actually quite good for you.
This is a green bitter herbal tea. Gynostemma pentaphyllum is extremely good for you and the bitterness needs to be tasted for your body to be able to digest it properly. I encourage folks to work their way through a few tea bags and get accustomed to it before writing it off or switching to capsules which will not work as well. The bitterness is a green plant kind of bitter, not the chemical taste as some have described. If you have any experience with bitters, you will be fine with this... if not, you will need to get used to it which is fairly easy to do. Just remember that this is a health tonic not a leisure tea and you will be fine.
