Really fine good quality sand!
I really liked this sand, and will definitely buy this again in the future when I make a new set up. (I bought this sand a couple of moths ago but my tank broke so I had to get rid of everything-reason as to why I will soon buy again this sand) This sand is really fine and tiny, the only problem I had with this sand was with air bubbles forming with the sand and coming to the surface of the water. But other than that great sand guys! P.S you might lose a bit of sand when cleaning bc it’s so tiny!

Sand is great ( If you get it ) but seller doesn't always come through
The sand is beautiful and looks wonderful but having said that, the seller can't be counted on to deliver. I had ordered 2 bags at the same time. One cane in but the other was delayed for whatever reason. I waited and waited for a few days but finally just cancelled because I saw that if I put in a new order, I would have it in 2 days. Well guess what? For some unknown reason, THIS order has been delayed too. WHATS GOING ON ?? If this isn't at my door by tomorrow ( and I know that it's in my city because tracking shows it ) I'm cancelling AGAIN and I'll buy it from a more reputable seller. This is ridiculous and a farce

Why make your life harder?
This sand is amazing, Hassle Free and looks GREAT! If you read the instructions on the bag all you need to do is add the sand to the aquarium and add water. Allow time for it to settle, then skim off the floaters and let the filter do the rest. Don’t rinse this sand it’s good for the fishies!

Very Fine/Small Size Particle Sand
Decided to switch out my light colored sand to black sand. The back wall of my aquarium is black and I wanted a more moody look by using the black sand as well.I do wish this sand had slightly larger grains that were closer in size to each other. My light colored sand is by Carib Sea and the grains are more or less a similar size and slightly larger (no silt size particles in that sand) and is heavy enough to not be able to vacuum out of the tank. While this black sand is mostly very fine grit (some is even silt like) with a lesser amount of a bit larger grains (you can see those larger grains in the pictures I've added). I would've liked to have gotten the Carib Sea brand again, but they don't seem to make black sand anymore, so I went with this one.It is as the other reviewers have said with the floaty bits that have to settle down eventually. It did cloud my water some after putting in tank (even after attempting to rinse it well), but the pictures attached were taken about 5 hours after adding to my tank and it had cleared considerably by then. I have included two pictures (taken two years ago) of the light Carib Sea sand, for particle size reference, along with two pictures of the black sand. My fish still has 6 days left in quarantine, so that will hopefully give the black sand time to fully settle in the tank before adding the fish in. I may still look for a different black sand with more of the larger particles to add into this sand in my tank.

Great for the bottom of my axolotl tank
Used it for the bottom of my axolotl tank. Had a 20gallon long and used 2 bags to cover the bottom with a solid inch and then with the leftovers I put some into cups to hold down my plants. Definitely need to give it a day or two to settle and get all the floaters out. Overall, good quality and the amount of sand left floating was minimal compared to other brands I've used.

Great product
Initially, when I received the package, I was highly skeptical that this one tiny bag would be enough to cover my 5 gallon tank like other reviews have promised. I was disappointed and upset, but decided to lay the sand down to determine how many more bags I would need to purchase. Much to my surprise, one bag was actually enough for my 5 gallon tank! I rinsed it off and put it in my tank and ran the filter. The water actually cleared up within minutes, and there was barely any sand floating on the surface once I gave it a swirl. The water is not cloudy and wasn't as murky as I expected for black sand. Great and pleasantly surprised!

Stains the Water Black
It's lovely black sand! Unfortunately, it dyes the water black. I thought it would clear out after a few water changes, but to no avail. In addition, my betta has developed fin rot that will not go away, although it could be due to other factors. After checking some other reviews, though, it seems that the sand can occasionally come through contaminated in transport.Be sure to thoroughly wash the product after acquisition, and DO NOT use it if the water still turns black after washing. Otherwise, it adds a lovely layer to the tank!

That's it...
I'm usually really anal & detailed when it comes to cleaning sand for my aquariums. However, I purchased this sand at a higher price point because of the reviews. They were spot on IMO. The sand is silky soft & beautiful. I only added half to a tank that upgraded from 5 to 10 gallons. I simply poured it in a bucket and let the water overflow while I swirled it around, drained, & repeated a few times. Then added it to a tank full of water. The floating sand fell to the bottom when I swirled it around. That's it. Perfect!
