The Mask Omnibus Volume 2 (Second Edition) (Mask Omnibus, 2)

I'm a huge fan. These stories are the real deal. Not for your innocent, naive, gullible happy types. The Mask does get silly, zany, wacky, cheesy & goofy. It's Slapstick comedy. However, The auctual stories out years before the Jim Carey movie, are filled with more Blood, violence, gore & murder than the child friendly movie. BUT these stories are the original ones. How it was meant to be without Hollywood liberalism.The Mask is Right up there with The Joker, Lobo, Judge Dredd & other Vigilante AntiHeros. The Mask is a 90's character. So expect a 90's style comic book. It was the darkest decade for media entertainment & by far the best. The Mask stories are perfect for those with a Dark sense of humor that want the funniest of the bloody gory violent comic book tales.

I love the Mask, but some of these were hard to like. Hunt for the Green October was great, World tour was fine, but required knowledge of Dark Horse's other titles that I don't possess in order to fully understand. Southern Discomfort was great, but "toys in the attic" was a confusing mess. The other material, like the short story that sees the return of the original Mask, Stanley Ipkiss, felt like it should have been a full series instead of a gag story. Overall, still worth a read.

The stories are great, but when I got my book, the pages at the bottom were fused together, almost like they weren't cut properly. Instead of returning it for a new one, I decided to just cut and tear the pages apart. While that worked, a few pages were torn. I don't mind, but I would have preferred that the pages were exactly like they should be. But all in all, I'm happy with my purchase, and if my case was the exception, I would say go ahead and get it! It has some of the best storied of the mask outside of the initial saga!

This series is wonderful, but completely chaotic

I have the first volume and just had to get the second. Not as dark as the original, but has a lot of fun and inventive artwork to admire

The original paperback omnibuses went out of print so they’ve been re-released! Hooray for us.I won’t spoil these violent but brilliant stories for you.The book itself is thick, the cover is a bit thin but is paperback so it’s to be expected. The pages are a nice thickness with no bleed through.This omnibus wraps up the current stories, such a shame.Readers be warned, this isn’t a Jim Carrey type of book. It’s bloody, violent and I wouldn’t suggest it for younger children to read.I was sad to read the end of this book thinking there’d be no more Big Head (Mask) stories but there’s comics being published now ‘I Pledge Allegiance To The Mask’ which comes out next year, something to keep us Mask fans happy!Please, please don’t buy the super expensive out of print omnibuses on EBay because you don’t get anything new in them, these reprints are just as good and hold the same content.Recommended for adult readers, not for kids due to the graphic violence.Well worth the money.

A bit more erratic than the first volume but entertaining none the less!

Nachdem ich mir den ersten Band von The Mask durchgelesen hatte, konnte ich selbstverständlich nicht wiederstehen, mir den zweiten Band von The Mask zu bestellen. Die Geschichte wird in diesem Band direkt nach dem ersten Band fortgesetzt und liefert dem jeweiligen Leser wieder einfallsreiche Darbietungen der jeweiligen Träger der Makse. Die Geschichten sind auch wieder voller Humor, Ideen und Gewalttaten gestaltet. Preistechnisch kann ich mich hierbei nicht beschweren, da der Preis in Ordnung zu sein scheint. Die Lieferungszeit war auch beim zweiten Band relativ schnell. Auch der zweite Band scheint nicht im Neuzustand zu sein, was aber kein großer Akt ist.Fazit: Auch wenn der erste Band, meiner Meinung nach, besser als der zweite Band ist, empfehle ich trotzdem jedem Käufer bzw. Leser diesen Band, da die Geschichten des zweiten Bandes schließlich nicht im ersten Band vorhanden sind :)

Les comics sont arrivés dans les temps. Je n'ai pas encore commencé à le lire mais après lecture du premier volet le 2e s'annonce épique !
