This is a powerful flashlight!
Just opened this flashlight and despite not having another UV flashlight to compare this to I would be willing to argue that this one is the best bang for your buck. Pros: - Bright in UV terms - is small and light -most definitely 365nm if not shorter Cons: -Gets hot within 5min -Connection between battery isn't ideal, may need/want to run a wire from tip of spring to connector. -Can not mod/or completely disassemble without the u-shape pin tool (cant remember what they are called) -Is extremely dangerous to skin and eye sight. This is very important for you to know, I feel this flashlight is emitting dangerous levels of UV radiation. I would not under any circumstances point this light at anything reflective that would shine back into your eyes or shine this flashlight at anyone closer than 50ft of you if at all. This is a weapon and should be treated as such. -365nm to my understanding was a safe UV wave to shine at myself or at people for a couple seconds at a time. Now like I said I have just opened this flashlight. I have not hurt myself or anyone else since opening it. I am scared to put this light on my skin and I feel my glasses will be a necessary thing to wear when I am using this light strictly because of the power this thing has. That being said, I do not know how power of the light vs lightwave range effects damage to your body especially at 10 watts -Now I know the flashlight says warning this and that but my understanding is that 365nm is a UVA light that would have a tough time giving you a tan even under long exposure times. This flashlight will melt your vision in seconds. -I have never purchased anything in my life so underrated. To achieve their supposed 365nm they put a filter over the LED that only allows short wave to pass through the lens. Which is really confusing because of the extensive research I did prior to buying this flashlight have convinced me that you need quarts to achieve such short waves so I had my doubts about this method. Which begs the question, what nm is this flashlight actually capable of with a quarts lens and how short of wave can or is this LED capable to achieve? My guess is an extremely dangerous levels. Not sure if this is actually a con... Recommendations to AloneFire: -This flashlight needs more cooling -Would love to see this in a C8 flashlight with a quarts lens Final thoughts: I got these flashlights for cheap and they do exactly what I need them to do and my worry of a buying a cheap flashlight that could not achieve 365nm was immediately put behind be as soon as I turned it on. Build quality was as expected for a cheap flashlight (good enough). Would highly recommend this flashlight with an extreme caution of the warnings listed above. Hope this helps

Way better than expected! Lights up scorpions like beacons!
Pro's: * Can see a scorpion from a good 20ft away * Lights them up even in cracks in the walls (they'll even shuffle around because of the amount of light they are emitting!) * Puts off hardly any visible light, mainly just luminescences anything that can. Some things will light up a room based on the light they emit from it! * I can't really see needing a brighter light for backyard/house scorpion hunting * Rechargeable battery Cons: * You should wear some kind of plastic eye covering when using it. Just the bounced back near invisible light seems to make my eyes really strained after 10 minutes of using it (but using clear safety lenses gets rid of that) * Gets warm fairly quickly- not super hot, but glad the case is aluminum, and dissipates heat- this LED burns through some power! Summary: Best black light I've used, and I have a different 100 LED light I had bought previously that's 1/20th as useful (a lot more visible light making it harder to see luminescence, and things glow at 1/10th the brightness, and only about 10ft away). I would get this again for sure. I was considering getting the 3 LED version, but it's much more expensive, and would only be more useful if you're looking for stuff further than a 20-30ft backyard.

Very good longwave flashlight
I have bought this flashlight several times over the past 5 years. I have had no problems with them-very sturdy, easy to recharge, good longwave performance. I never tested how long the battery lasts bc I keep multiples around, but it seems to be fine. I don’t use it outdoors much nor to prospect, but it’s a great light, and the price can’t be beat.

Impressive!
On a whim I decided to buy this. For $25 not a huge loss if it turned out to be a piece of junk. So far, I don't think that's the case. It uses a standard 18650 Li cell so it will be easy to find replacements if the LED(s) don't burn out first. Using the supplied charger and plugging it into a regular port of an Anker Quick Charge 3 wall wart https://smile.amazon.com/Anker-PowerPort-Charger-Charge-PowerIQ/dp/B01N2HIR9R/ it took probably 5 hours for the battery to charge. The LED in the charger turns from red to green when the battery has been fully charged. I could find no reference showing correct installation polarity for the battery so I installed it like a regular flashlight, namely positive in first. The endpiece containing the on/off switch threaded smoothly into the housing and has an o-ring seal for water resistance. The on/off switch has a good, solid mechanical feel with positive action. It's either on or off. There is no momentary on position. This is a good thing considering the amount of current the light is pulling. The light came on so the polarity was correct and man was it bright! It lit up things all throughout the apartment and easily made things glow in other rooms 20+ feet away. The light's output is filtered so no visible light or fluorescence is emitted. The housing is heavy black anodized aluminum. After running the light for a couple minutes, I could tell that the housing was getting warm. Because of the high current draw, power dissipation from the LED is high and heatsinking is a must. That's where the aluminum housing comes into play. If it weren't aluminum, and say, plastic, it would melt down on you! This unfortunately is the light's weak point. You need to pay attention to how hot it gets. Not so much for being burned, but the lifetime of the LED will be significantly reduced the hotter it gets and the longer it runs hot. While I've only had the light a couple of days and haven't had the need to recharge it yet, it's an impressive device and could be useful for many applications. I might actually buy another to bring into work because we use UV cement to bond optics and this light would be strong enough to do a large area cure instead of needing to use a 1/4" spot lamp all the time.

Bought this as a gift, really lights up glow-in-the-dark filament and can even cure UV resin though I've only tested small quantities. You can feel the heat from the beam! Quality aluminum case, battery lasts a while.
