I had to get a hitch extension for this to clear my tube bumper on my Jeep but it looks great.UPDATE: Well, due to nasty snow, my GF had borrowed my Jeep and while stopped at a light she was rear-ended by some idiot rich kids going roughly 30mph, but this hitch cover, which was on an extension, absorbed the initial impact and stopped the car dead in its tracks. 4 People involved and nobody was hurt. My Jeep was completely unharmed, but the other guys front end was caved in around the site where the hitch cover plunged in, rendering his car undriveable. The kicker is that the paw section of the hitch cover survived and was pulled from the wreckage, albeit a little scuffed up. Now I am buying TWO MORE of these; with one as a back-up in case we get rear-ended again! I don't normally sing the glories of a product but I just have to with this hitch cover. Its' aestetic appeal and sturdy design make it an exceptional product. It's a bit lighter weight than I expected and it rattles in the hitch receiver. Instructions included in the package mention putting tape around the plug to snug it up - I'll be using a sheet of thin rubber pads to buffer it instead.I could have done without the included cheap hitch pin.
