At first I thought it wouldn’t be much different than any other lunchbox you can buy, especially because the price is so low, but I was wrong! The first thing I noticed when it arrived was the quality of the material. It’s really nice and seems super durable! The handle is also longer than other lunchboxes. Our old lunchboxes also had a clip to attach it to their backpack but because the handle is so short it’s awkward to attach and it sticks out at a weird angle. Not with this lunchbox! The handle is longer so you can clip it to things easily and it’s big enough I can push it up my arm if I need my hands free. To test out the insulation, I put a normal freezer pack and a frozen tube of yogurt in the lunchbox and then left it in my hot car until lunchtime. When we opened it up the yogurt was still half frozen! My kids were in awe because with their old lunchboxes, which were the kind you put in the freezer and froze the whole thing, their yogurt would be warm at lunch even after sitting in an air conditioned classroom! To make sure it wasn’t a fluke, I threw a basic freezer pack and some chocolate snacks into the lunchbox when we went to a competition the next weekend. The lunchbox say in my car for 6 hours on a 90+ degree day and the freezer pack was still cool (not cold) and the chocolate wasn’t warm at all but actually slightly cool! Love, love, love this lunchbox! Really wanted one that would fit nicely in teen’s backpack. This one is PERFECT in the adult-size Jansport. It’s only been in use for 4 days so far so I cannot attest to long-term durability but it arrived in good condition and looks like it will perform well under reasonable use. The color is a little bit taupe-gray as opposed to a blue- or black-gray, if this matters to you.
