Extra protection.
If you jealously take care of your tools, then you’ll be very happy with this boot. Plastic is little over 1/16” thick and has a durable feeling and fit like glove. It is some how hard/tricky to put on but is possible without demanding the boot. Like the other successful customers, I use a heat gun and directed the heat to the inside but mostly to the side of the boot. I was able to hold the boot while been heated so does not take LOTS OF HEAT. Ones is hot enough, just push it down firmly if the Shank gets stuck on boot, lift it up with a screw driver and keep pushing. Case closes little snug because of the added thickness of the boot to battery and tool it self but does close, extra battery only fits upside down do to the molded tabs in the case.

I am very pleased with this purchase
Initially, I felt this item was overpriced, however, its value in protecting the tool is unquestionable. I use it on my # 5350 1/2" right angle drive even though its description says it is for the 3/8" Impactool. It fits perfectly allowing the tool to be carried in the original, blow-molded tool case. It was a bitch to install! I used a heat gun and a wide screwdriver to CAREFULLY leverage it onto the tool. Once on and cooled it fits almost seamlessly. Use caution that you do not tear it when installing. I use it in conjunction with the Ingersoll-Rand BL2005 Protective Battery Boot. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Good investment for working in enviroments with abrasive surfaces.
If you work in an environment with abrasive surfaces and like to keep your tools in as good a condition as possible then this protective boot should be well worth the investment. I say "should" because this is the first rubber impact tool protector I have owned, my others are leather and they're still working great after 20+ years. I couldn't get this protector on the tool without heating it up slightly to give it additional stretch. I used a common hair dryer set to high, a hotter industrial heat gun would be unnecessary. This boot fits both the Ingersoll Rand W5350 1/2" and W5330 3/8" models, my tool is the W5330 3/8" model.

Better than nothing and needs to a heat gun to fit
I got this for the W5350 1/2" as described in the description, but it might not hold up for very long. It is very obvious upon receiving it that it is meant for the W5330 3/8" and required the use of a heat gun, patience, and lots of tugging. The rubber is stretched and stressed already around the corners after cooling down from the heart gun after rough fitment and will forcibly fit back into the tool carrying case. It looks nice but I'll see how long it will last... It's better than nothing right now.

As advertised - real difficult install, ridiculously over-priced...
Very difficult to install but, once accomplished, performes as claimed. Ridiculously over-priced for a $2 piece of plastic. Yeah, well. Apple does it, too. And we buy billions of them...go figure

Good protection on your expensive investment
Ingersoll Rand is a great high quality tool company they are very expensive but they last for years and years if not a lifetime if you take good care of them. You cannot install this boot dry out of the box, I boiled some water and it softened the material to get the boot on with ease just take your time not to tear the boot especially as it will be soft from coming out of the heat of the water. I would give it 5 stars but the price is just ridiculous.
