These lampshades are beautiful and are just what the lamps needed. The shades I had previously were more of a rougher weave and much darker in color. These shades are a beautiful lighter tan color, and the embroidery is gorgeous in that tone-on-tone look. But at night when the lamps are turned on these shades become almost white in appearance and are MUCH brighter in the room than the previous shades. My husband actually commented last night that it's almost too much light when he kicks back in his recliner, compared to the softer light of the darker shades (exact same lightbulb).
