I was able to keep my passports, credit card, and money close to me at all times. I used this as a cross body bag over a T-shirt and under a button-down shirt. It's good if you need extreme protection against pick pockets, but having to unbutton 3-4 buttons on your shirt to access it is inconvenient. Also if it were summer I wouldn't want this with 2 shirts. I think the risk is mostly mitigated by having a bag in front of you, rather than the side or behind, so I think next time I'd get a regular cross body bag. This is barely big enough to fit a thin wallet, passport, and your smartphone in. A regular cross body bag can fit more things easily, is cooler to wear, and easier to access.
