When you get it, it isn't shiny like that. It's more dark and light doesn't reflect off it like that in the picture.And by dark I don't mean Dark Forest Black Purple that you couldn't tell is Purple. What I mean is that it looks more like DARK VIOLET is more the color.The scarf itself is extremely soft and I've bought numerous scarfs from this company and I'm sure a lot of you have read the reviews of black lines, strings coming off etc.This scarf didn't come with any black lines on it, there were a couple loose strands of the scarf, but it's easy to remove it without damaging the scarf or just ignoring it.The scarf is fragile, I mean if you get it stuck on something then yes you probably will pull strings. That is true and I've done it.I'm not disappointed at all. I really do like this scarf and I'm not gonna tell you where to wear it because I'm not gonna have you think you can only wear it certain places.But I do recommend it if you like scarves in general. The colors are beautiful, the material is soft, and it held up amazing in the washing machine! I hung it to dry. I have gotten several compliments and plan on buying more in different colors.
