DeeringDeluxe Padded Open Back Banjo Gig Bag

I have seen reviews that say the fabric is cheap and the case did not wear well. Do not know how well this will wear over time but it is NOT cheaply made. I was REALLY happy with what I got. Heavy fabric, well made, well padded. While I am sorry Deering no longer sells the one with the eagle on it, this is a nice case. Note the fit for the Goodtime open back is snug. And I got this one cause the other bag for resonator banjos would likely have had too much slop in it.

This is a great bag- very sturdy, padded like crazy and has a good storage pocket. I usually prefer hard cases but from what I read, open backed banjos do not fit very well in most hard cases. Considering this was made specifically for my Deering banjo, it fits perfectly. Highly recommended, plus it's cheaper on Amazon than from Deering directly. Excellent buy!

bought this for the banjo I ordered for my hubby for Christmas...he hasn't received it yet, but, it seems like a great quality item...

It's not the most padded bag. It has a nice sewn-in emblem. The leather(ish) straps are okay; they tend to slip off my arms easily. What bothers me, though, is Deering's customer service.After about a year of transporting my banjo back and forth from band practice, the bottom of the bag suddenly formed a sizable tear. I understand normal wear and tear, but really? I'm always careful with my beloved instruments, so it's beyond me how it happened. The last thing I need is for my banjo to rip through the bottom of the bag and onto the hard ground one day, so I contacted Deering customer service to let them know what happened. I was hoping for an exchange.First of all, they took days to get back to me. I actually forgot I emailed them by the time I received my response. Not very professional. Then, their offer to me is 40% off PLUS $12.95 S&H, so $60 total. Seriously? $60 for a new case that shouldn't have torn in the first place? And you're charging ME shipping costs? Thanks for nothing, Deering. Unfortunately Deering has us by the you-know-whats because I have no choice but to buy this bag for my Deering Goodime. I'll take my chances with the tear for now.

I was in general very pleased with this purchase. It is an excellent quality bag and my husband (who it was a gift for) seems pleased with it. I will say however that what keeps it from getting 5 stars is that it was NOT the one pictured in the listing. I liked the design of the one I actually ordered better and was extremely annoyed when I first received my package. The fact that it is still a nice Gig Bag kept this from being a worse review, but I am still not completely satisfied.

This padded Banjo bag is the perfect size, the "back pack" straps make it very easy to carry. A very sturdy bag.

I wanted a hard case but they were too expensive. This one has worked well for what I needed. My open back Goodtime fits nicely in it.
