Review: Tupelo honey is so, so good! - I first had tupelo honey about 10 years ago. I saw it at a local specialty market and thought I'd try it. I've bought various 'regular' honeys from my regular supermarket over the years only to be disappointed since now I'm spoiled by the flavor of tupelo, so I started ordering tupelo honey online after not finding it locally. I happened upon the Sleeping Bear Farms Beekeepers brand of tupelo honey last year after my usual brand was out of stock online everywhere I looked. I just bought my second jar of this honey and will continue to do so as long as they're in business. This stuff is super yummy (try it on plain yogurt)! I had the first jar for about a year and it did not crystallize at all during that time. Also, this company is super fast fulfilling their orders. I had my honey within 3 days after ordering it!

**Q: Is this honey raw and unprocessed?**
A: By industry standard, it is Raw honey. We do strain out anything that is about the size of a grain of sand and larger to make sure the golden, delicious honey is as clean as a whistle :)

**Q: Is this white tupelo honey?**
A: White tupelo is what most people look for . Mostly in mid and upper Florida versus black tupelo that is predominant in Georgia. White tupelo is light in color and will not crystallize. Ask before buying. White tupelo is sweeter than black tupelo.

**Q: Is the honey from Tuepelo Flowers, exclusively???**
A: To educate y'all: Tupelo honey is valuable specifically to Diabetes patients as part of a blood glucose control diet. That honey comes from swamp tupelo trees. Tupelo is not a "gum" tree though some call a variety "black gum". "White" grow in very wet to swampy areas. "Black" tupelo grow in upland areas. Two very distinct and separate environments. It is difficult to keep hives in white or swamp tupelo habitat because of the water or the chance of rain flood. In the natural order flowering plants tend to bloom in offset cycles so the gist is that during the specific blooming period of tupelos, hives located in the near vicinity will produce nominally "pure" tupelo honey. Fun fact illustrating where tupelo trees grow; I fish the small blackwater creeks in Effingham and Chatham counties GA and during the tupelo bloom the little yellow and brown bullhead catfish will have blossoms in their bellies and when the berries fall the little cats will have bellies full of those.

Arrived intact, though wasn't bubble-wrapped as were the other honeys (avocado, and buckwheat) I ordered from Amazon, but the box was filled with foam popcorns and the top was taped down well to the bottle. Plastic bottle with a squeeze opening at the top, but I won't use it like that - will dip into the jar. A more fluid and sweeter-tasting honey than the buckwheat and the avocado honey I ordered at the same time, so will be a great change in taste. Is also more of a traditional-color honey, whereas the other 2 are dark. Taste is amazing!
