Long answer: Synology re-brands an OEM card, and you can search for those OEM drivers. The reason this card exists is so Synology can mark-up the price, as they only support their own brand in their NAS products. Some people are obsessed with protecting warranty compliance, particularly in the business world. So you would be better served finding another card. Good luck **Q: Any alternative 10gb cards for ds1621+/ds1821+? because honestly those synology are priced way too high.** A: If you want both 10G network and M.2 slots, this E10M20-T from Synology with NOT work in the DS1817+ I am positive, and I suspect it would not work in the DS1621+ either....but if you go to synology website, it lists the compatible systems that it works in right there in the specs for the card. Unfortunately, I did not read that before hand...so I bought this for my DS1817+, but the m.2 slots don't work (the 10g port does though). If you want just 10g network ports...the X540-T2 works perfectly in my ds1817+ and ds1821+; you don't need the Intel version either. I have the 10Gtek version I bought here on Amazon and it works perfectly.
