Love this movie

We tried to find this years ago, but it either wasn't available or it cost too much. Now it is out on DVD and price was right!

I like this film. A few months ago, I developed a (or discovered) relationship with St Francis. This film has helped me. Too bad that the item listed below that I ordered is the same film with different packaging.

Best movie made on St Francis.. a must see and have.

Provides many new insights into Francis's life. I especially liked the performance by Dolores Hart as Clare. She later became a cloistered nun.

I did not open the DVD until yesterday. We started watching the movie and it stopped in the middle. We started it again and it stopped in the same place. I removed it from the DVD player and saw that there was a little chip out of the edge. That was the first time I used it. I know it is too late to return it, but I wanted you to be aware that it was damaged when I received it.

good holy movie, loved every minute of it. Watch my VHS when I had it all the time. now I will watch this DVD alot.

The story of a mans' spirit accompanying the welcome rituals of THE LORD and his rulings in the I believe 19th Century.

Excellent film and a true portrayal of St. Francis. Having been in Assisi, this film has had a deep impact on me. Also of interest is the fact that Dolores Hart, who played St. Clare in the movie, actually became a nun, and joined the Benedictine Sisters of Regina Laudis in Bethlehem, Connecticut, in 1963, and took her final vows in 1970. Towards the end of her acting career she was engaged to be married to an architect, but on the night of their engagement party, she told him that she loved him, but had changed her mind. He never married, but remained her friend, visiting her in the abbey every Christmas and Easter, until his death in 2011 at age 78. Reverend Mother Dolores has been prioress of the Abbey since 2001.In the movie, St. Francis and St. Clare are to be married. Francis becomes a monk, St. Clare becomes a nun, - how history repeats itself!

This movie covers a lot of ground to tell the story of St. Francis of Assisi. It moves quickly in places, but the pace is appropriate for the broad survey of St. Francis's life and the order he established. It touches on some deep themes that the audience is left to ponder on their own. One outstanding feature is the acting by Stuart Whitman, who plays his character as a passionate, believable, and very human supporting role.

This is an interesting account of the life of Francis of Assisi. It makes the story of his life more interesting than reading about him in a history book. However, having said that, for me, watching it once was enough.

This is a truly inspiring movie as well about a rich man who sacrificed all he had for Christ and inspired others to do the same; with God directing his life path. I cannot say enough about how good this movie truly is. I was so moved and filled with such wonderful emotions after watching this, that I would definitely highly recommend this movie!

Very good movie ....Would recommend it for anyone who enjoys History of the early saints.We watched it and then loaned it to our friends who also enjoyed it.
