I usually use my marker for 2 hrs at a time, has anyone ecperienced drying out? I generally have to switch markers frequently

I switch out and replace the cap frequently between writing. Mostly because the magnets are not on my markers (they arrived that way) :-(

Do these markers work on dark surfaces?

Probably not very well, markers don’t show up on dark surfaces. A paint pen should work though, depending on the surface.

Do these markers contain methyl isobutyl ketone?

While I don't know if the ink has methyl isobutyl ketone, I can tell you it is labled "low odor". I only detect a very slight odor when using them. If the odor is what you are actually concerned about, I think you would be very happy with these.
