They responded that they were safe due to preservatives and the fact that the leaves are mostly cooked before packaging. However they insisted on refunding our purchase even though we told them it was not necessary. We ordered a 3rd jar, and it was delivered in perfect condition. We will continue to order this brand! You can cook them and boil them all day long you will be chewing on plastic. I come from a Greek family where we use grape leaves on a normal basis and this namebrand right here is terrible. I will try a different name brand. Definitely not this one. We usually buy the Greek name brands that we know and we never have a problem.
