It's the Right Tool for the Job
This tool was perfect for reinstalling the truck's upholstery after I fixed a broken heated seat wire. The pliers's angled head solved a problem where a hog-ring was behind a support. Now, buns are warm, and the upholstery's tight.Besides the angled head, the pliers are spring-loaded to hold the hog-ring in place while fishing it down into the seat seams. Yes, you may be able to use long-nose pliers, but why put yourself through such misery? Get the right tool, and, you'll have a lifetime supply of hog-rings to boot.

Great little pliers
I have used these several times now since making this review. I specifically went for these because they are angled, and it helps a ton on some seats because the covers fit very snug when you are attaching the rings. The rings that come with these pliers are okay. They are a little thicker than OE stuff, but they do the job all the same. I would not use them to install a set of seat covers in a Ferrari, but they have worked just fine on other installs. Overall, you definitely can not go wrong if you order this set.

Spring loaded, designed to hold the rings in the jaw cavity
The tool functioned as designed. The slide action became resistant to free movement, some lubrication resolved the issue. Grasping the handles when fully open requires hands with long fingers.

Works great!
I had to give it four stars on ease of use because it is a little tricky and it has a little bit of a spring action which is helpful and maybe over time they would break in better and be easier but I find that I have to use both hands quite often to get them to spread all the way and then they want to automatically clamp shut so while you're trying to get the thing in there it's just all about developing the habit of using this tool but it's a fantastic tool

Great angle Hog ring pliers for auto seat upholstery!
I loved the angled head on these pliers. It makes it perfect for seeing in tight crevices when you are attaching the hog rings during auto upholstery recovering. I recovered the leather seats myself in my 1999 Toyota 4runner to save 250 bucks (what a local shop wanted just to change over the covers). I am a mid level do it yourself er and I love a new challenge. These pliers come with the hog rings included and I am very proud of the finished product. I did watch a few you tube videos and it took me 2 hours on the first seat but only an hour for the second one. It's like anything else, practice gives you confidence. I don't know if I will ever use them again, but they saved me a ton of money and that is what we are all after, lol. Great product!

Dimensions not accurate in description
The product itself looks fine, like a sturdy hog ring should. But, it is 1/4" wider than photo in description shows: NOT 3/4", but 1"; and much wider than the 1/2" depicted between ends. So, I could not use it for my 3/8" bungee/shock cord project as it did not wrap tight enough. I am returning the hog rings, as they did not work for me.
