I keep it plugged in at all times because the battery does not last all night. It does last a few hours though. It is pretty quiet and powerful for its size. There is one major and one minor thing I don't like about the fan. Minor dislike: the light when it's on and when it's plugged in. I put black tape over it and you can still see the light through the motor. Major dislike: how easily it tips over.
