Just decided to shave my beard, and since my whole face was going to be exposed I wanted to start taking better care of my skin. I'm 40 but look younger (pretty much only get hit on by those in their 20s when I go out). I wear stubble right now. I usually have a pimple somewhere on my face, and my nose is a problem area. So that's the background, now for the product. I found this to be a little on the expensive side, but the reviews were so good and they offer a 60-day money back guarantee, so I gave it a shot. It was between this and Cetaphil which was much cheaper and at least one person I know with good skin (a girl) has recommended in person. I also bought a chemical peel that I've used twice, under eye collagen I use twice daily, nose strips to remove blackheads (only work a little for me), and a non-comedogenic moisturizer (lotion not supposed to block pores) I'll put on in the morning after I use Rugged & Dapper. Finally I occasionally use a little Proactiv Repairing Treatment only on my nose to keep acne away, and to try to heal two spots that don't seem to want to go away. I mention all that so you can know everything I'm using, so it's hard to pin my new complexion down to one product. But the main thing I'm using is Rugged & Dapper, and it leaves me feeling very clean and smooth afterwards. It has what you'd describe as a manly, woodsy scent when using it...but no smell that I can tell after you've dried your face. After my morning shower, and before bed, I use a nickel-sized amount after I wet my face, and rub into a lather using a circular motion. I then rinse it off with warm to hot water. It has kept away breakouts from occurring on my forehead (this is the only product I use there) as well as my cheeks. I still have blackheads and am trying to figure out what to do about them. But my nose is also much cleaner thanks to this product. I would definitely recommend, especially considering the money back guarantee.

To be fair I’ve never really had bad acne growing up but I’m in my 40’s and all the sudden my forehead has just been breaking out like crazy with little pimples. I’ve been using this for about 3-4 weeks. Nothing would get rid of the stubborn acne showing up all over my forehead. Started off washing my face with this 3 times per day with a twice a day clearasil cream. (I hit it hard at night ) i also bought the clay mask product and used it twice. It took at least 1.5 weeks to see a major difference. Now at about 3-4 weeks it pretty much all but gone. I switched to a 2 times per day washing with this and 2 light clearasil cream( morning & night) so far it’s stayed away and I feel like I’m in a good routine that will prevent it from coming back. I have also bought the moisturizer but have never used it yet. (However, i plan to)To be honest one of the reasons I like this product is I’ve used it 3-4 times per day and my skin hasn’t cracked or looked crazy dry. The reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because I don’t think it would have worked by itself without the clearasil. But to be fair it’s a face wash and not an acne killer. If you use it as part of your facial cleansing regimen, it’s great, but if you are only using this product to get rid of acne you will need additional products. On the flip side of that, I do think that once you get rid of the acne, this product alone will maintain a clean and acne free face if you keep a consistent regimen.

I'm no expert on skincare products and have only used facewashes from Khiel's mostly for the past decade. Over the years, I've become lazy and was not consistent at washing or moisturizing my face as I used to. The bottle of Khiel's would just sit there in the corner, and I'd use it only once a day when I take a shower at night. The change happened when an old friend visited from abroad and pointed out that my skin wasn't as vibrant as it used to be, and I've looked a lot older than my physical age, and it was that simple comments that motivated me to start taking better care of my skin. As the bottle of Khiel's is running low (I used the same container over a year), I've decided to try a new brand, and that's when I saw RUGGED & DAPPER at the very top of the results page. I didn't have many expectations regarding the face wash and ordered it from Amazon out of convenience. In summary, this product exceeded my expectation. Before using the product, my face was oily, and every time I rinse my face, I could feel tiny bumps on my forehead. Now a couple of weeks into using the products, I can feel my face a lot more smooth, and the small bumps are gone. I have to admit, I am also a lot more consistent at washing my face ever since I've received the product, and I followed its instruction by applying in a circular motion and at least three times a day: Morning, after the workout, and evening during the shower. I'm not sure if I'd achieve the same result with the Khiel's face wash, but I'm pretty sure the tiny bumps went away thanks to its scrub element. In conclusion, I used this product three times daily for the past couple of weeks; it has made my face smoother, the scrub did not cause any side effects, and it's probably helped me rid of the skin bumps. If you have a sudden realization that you need to start taking care of your face, I'd recommend starting with this item.

How to review this product and compete with all of the witty and rather clever reviews.... Heck, after reading the reviews on this product, I was half-way convinced this product would change my life. Most of the reviews were compensated and if they were unhappy, they still made waiver statements as though a lawyer coached them. Now, I want to start by saying I waited a little more than a week to write a review because my first impression was to pack this stuff back up and send it back. After a few days of use, I changed my view because what are we talking about here? It's a face wash. Does it clean? Yup. Does your skin feel decent after use? You betcha. After using this product, do you wake up in a mansion with the title "Supermodel Rock Star"? Not a chance, but don't expect that from a bottle of face wash.... The bottle is very cheap and due to the density of the product, you will have to pump the dispenser incessantly to prime it enough to actually work. There isn't a strong scent and it's not distinctive by any means. The "exfoliate" portion refers to the not so "micro-rocks" that do scrub per say, but are not in high enough quantities to do much of anything. You basically just push them around on your face and seem like ingredients to hype the label, not functionality. Speaking of the label, I feel as though the label is well marketed to appeal to all. "Organic ingredients, foaming exfoliator, fuel." Yeah it has those ingredients and they make sure to spell it out all over the label, but they seem to be more of an advertisement. Just didn't get the result that was claimed. Overall, it's a nice soap, but I think it's priced much too high. I purchased for about half the retail price and I feel that's still too high. It's new, so you're not paying for the name and clearly it wasn't spent on the bottle. I will not be purchasing an additional bottle, even with the advertised discount for a good review, but I'll finish the one I have as it still does its job...it cleans.

I have been using this morning and before going to bed for a few days and so far it has been working without any outbreaks of pimples/rashes on my face. The only downside I can say is the price as its pricey compared to some other products but in my opinion I think its worth it. Recommend.

This is the perfect balance of cleanser and scrub. I have sensitive skin and this does not irritate it in the slightest. It leaves a smooth face and is perfect to prepare your face for a shave or just to use as a daily cleanser. Very natural and very effective.

Super face wash. Costly but lasts very long. Its scrub cum face wash so one not need to buy scrub separately. Definitely recommended for all skin types.
