A Must Read
Fantastic book for everyone in business! This is a great book...brief, to the point, and excellent reminders to keep things simple.

Short & To The Point
I was able to read this in one day. Its only about 100 pages long, written in a easy-to-digest format.I've been a business owner for almost 6 years now, and learned a LOT by watching Shark Tank, The Profit, etc. - as well as reading a lot of business books.Like Mr. Cuban says in this work, a book or magazine may cost $5, $20, but if it has even one idea that you can apply to your business, its worth it!I would 10/10 recommend this. It for sure has some nuggets of takeaway that are worth the price

Great Collection of Mark's Blog Posts
This is the second straight book I've read on Mark Cuban and I enjoyed this one much more than the one from last week. It's not a traditional book, but rather a collection of blog posts written by Mark on his advice for attaining success. I really enjoyed his style of writing and I liked hearing the story from his perspective. What I really enjoyed was hearing about the POS car he drove, the two cheap polyester suits he owned, and when he first started how he slept on a couch or floor in an apartment with a bunch of other dudes. Not sure why, but this part really resonated with me. 😉Mark wasn't born into wealth and earned everything he has by working his tail off amongst the other lessons he shares. The end of the book gives Mark's twelve mantras for success as follows:1 - Time is More Valuable than Money2- Commit Random Acts of Kindness3 - No Balls, No Babies4 - Work Hard, Play Hard5 - Don't Let Fear be a Roadblock6 - Expect the Unexpected, and Always be Ready7 - It's Okay to Yell and be Yelled at8 - Everyone gets Down: The Key is How Soon You get Back Up9 - It's not Whether the Glass is Half Empty or Half Full, it's Who is Pouring the Water10 - It's Not the Dreaming, it's in the Doing11 - Pigs get Fat, Hogs get Slaughtered12 - You Only Have to be Right Once! The book was published in November of 2011. It is but 73 pages but has great content. Amazon has 876 ratings for a score of 4.5. Goodreads has 3,284 ratings for a 4.02 with 247 reviews. While I'm not in 100% agreement with Mark on some of his thoughts and ideas, there's certainly enough value here to give it a strong rating and recommend it. Now, onto the other books from the sharks on my bookshelf!

A Collection of Blog Entries at First Glance, But So Much More
Every since I started reading Mark Cuban's weblog, BlogMaverick.com, I've been emailing links of my favorite posts to my employees and business associates. I subscribe to it on my RSS feed and typically read every entry within a matter of hours. So when I saw Mark's entry on Facebook that he had produced an ebook for sale, I bought it without a second thought. I must admit, I read the foreword and was immediately irritated to learn that the ebook was simply a collection of his most popular posts, many of which I'd read 10x over. Oh well, it's $2.99 as I read his first post which he discusses his humble beginnings coming to Dallas as a broke college grad. 5 hours later, I'm finished with the book and I'm convinced that was probably the best $3 I've spent on a book. If you're a blogmaverick reader his old posts have been updated with details and commentary that you will find very interesting and if you're not a blog maverick reader, you will no do doubt find find inspiration and more importantly, practical advice that applies to any business. What I have always found most impressive about Mark is how little he cares about what people think about and how passionate he is about getting 'IT' right. This book arranges his rags to riches tale in a chronological order that will be of great practical use to any entrepreneur. One thing I've felt throughout this NBA Lockout and ever more so after reading this ebook is that Mark Cuban must be going absolutely insane sitting in these 'business meetings' over the NBA's labor issues with dinosaurs like Billy Hunter and David Stern. I'll borrow a quote from his post "Twelve Cuban Mantra for Success":"11. Pigs get fat, hogs get slaughteredThis is one I got from my partner Todd Wagner. He is right on. Sometimes you have to go for the jugular, but more often than not, the biggest mistake people make is getting too greedy.Every good deal has a win-win solution. There is nothing I hate more than someone who tries to squeez every last penny out of a deal. Who often raises the aggravation level to the point where it's not worth doing the deal. Which also raises the dislike level to the point where even if a deal gets done, you look for ways to never do business with that person or company again.Business happens over years and years. Value is measured in the total upside of a business relationship, not by how much you squeezed out in any one deal."hrrmm...wonder if this could apply to Dan Gilbert and MJ??Well as I digress, I'll end this review with saying that rather than emailing links to my employees, friends and business associates, I'm going to buy this ebook for them.

Short but good
As he described he just put many of his posts together. It is not great but good. You can get some insight out of it.

Some tips from Mark Cuban
What this books lacks in coherence (Mark Cuban admits he put it together from various blog posts) it makes up for in character and inspiration.Cuban shares tips through his experience as a long-time entrepreneur. He touches upon the themes of being customer-obsessed, learning as much as possible, being good to others, being focused on core competencies, and of the need to keep trying in spite of repeated failures. On the latter point his memorable advice is: "You only have to be right once".Recommended reading for current/future entrepreneurs.
