I didn't buy these for kids. I'm a graphic designer and location photographer who needs to travel. These will not get confiscated from your carry-on gear by TSA when you board an airplane. Also good for camera packs, UL backpacking, the glovebox or the BOB you carry in your car. Sturdy, safe, light and backed by customer-friendly Westcott's 5-yr warranty. A very decent pair of general-purpose scissors to take with you for occasional use. And, they are only a $1 each. (If you buy just ONE of these solo it'll run you $4. 12 for $12 is a great deal!) I gave a 4-color quartet set to a friend of mine who is a photographer. He loved 'em! If I knew any little kids or teachers, I'd give away more. But I don't, so I've got 8 for me... a lifetime supply!)

These are great child safety scissors and are being enjoyed by my granddaughter’s preschool class. Would buy again at that excellent price.

I really love these scissors, so I just want to get the reason it's 4 stars out of the way right now. When I ordered them it said free shipping, but once I put in my Alaskan address the shipping was nearly $30.00 which is completely outrageous. Nevertheless, I needed them and purchased them. Aside from the fact they were very expensive, I am very happy with them. They are very durable and very kid-friendly. The blunt ends are great for young 'uns. And the light-weight plastic handles are perfect for even the smallest hands. I love that they can be used for either right or left handed children. And I adore that they come with a little plastic container that keeps them all neatly aligned. I use it and have taught the kids how to nicely put their scissors back in place. I love it and would highly suggest it for teachers, camp counselors, and parents of large families. Tips: These scissors are great for paper, string, yarn, and some fabrics. They don't work well on cardboard, fleece material, or plastic packages. The plastic handles are great because they are so easy to clean. Just wipe them off with a wet papertowel and virtually all marks disappear.

These scissors are great! They are cheaper to buy in bulk like this than individual. They are made well and work well.

With both left- and right-handed compatibility and blunt tips for safety, they're perfect for young learners. Durable and easy to grip, they make crafting and cutting activities a breeze. Highly recommended for parents and teachers!

I bought two sets of these to donate to a local School. They are bright and colorful and appear to be well made. These are for an elementary school so I’m sure they are lightweight but sharp enough to cut construction paper, etc.

I bought this for a small group of 4 and 5 year olds. We haven’t started using them yet. Good value for money, the scissors seem strong and they cut well (sample tested; not used by kids yet). The packaging arrived damaged. See next for what I did to adapt the box for storage. Advertised as ‘with Storage Rack’ - this is misleading! If you want to use this for ‘storage’, don’t take off the cellophane (inside the box and around the scissors). Instead, just cut off the top, around the handles (see photo). I have also kept the bottom of the outer box to give it some sturdiness (see photo). The delivery was in a sturdy paper envelope. The box inside arrived damaged and flattened. I sellotaped the edges and manually pushed the box back into shaped so that the box stands by itself.
