Shame on You Bosch! - Include the PA1206 with the PL2632
Shame on You Bosch! The Bosch PL2632 comes from the factory with the blades improperly aligned to the tool. It's all over YouTube that the blades are not aligned and the customer has to do it before they can use the tool. I called Customer Support and they were a complete was a waste of time. I pointed them to the PA1206 and asked them why they didn't just include that with the product. This product is great! Within 15 minutes I removed and cleaned both blades, used the PA1206 to align the blades and installed the blades with perfect alignment.Tools like this require blade changes and the PA1206 is a must and should be included with the PL2632

Plastic is not necessarily a bad idea.
A lot of people complain that this tool is made of plastic. Well I think I may have an explanation for that;' are you willing to press your new or newly sharpened HSS blade against a METAL surface? Plastic will not dull the freshly sharpened edge, and you really don 't have to press it so hard that you are going to damage the plastic anyway. I used this to set up the new HSS blades I got for my Bosch planer and got it right first time. It does what it it supposed to, and if it does eventually wear out it is cheap to replace.

Yep, it works
This piece of plastic should have come with the planer, but it didn't. Now that I have the correct size, I can make a bunch of them out of wood.

Did theJob
My Bosch hand power planer #1594 was not set up properly out of the box. It came with carbide blades which were suppose to be set by the factory in the blade holder. After reworking the movable front shoe to get it in the same plane as the fixed rear shoe the blades were still too low below the shoes when in the same plane resulting in excessive snip at the end of a planing pass. I also determined that the quality control on the carbide blade manufacturing resulting in varying blade depths when swapping out used carbide blades. This jig is advertised as something that is necessary when switching to high speed steel blades. It was only $5 and after measuring the blade protrusion below the bottom of the bases I thought that I would take a chance, buy this jig and reset the carbide blade holders. This work perfectly! If you are having an issue with snip, try this, it worked for me.

$5 your spending is for shipping, no quality material here.
Garbage. It flexes! Flimsy plastic - I had to buy this?!No directions on use, there are two grooves the retaining clips could go into.I’m looking for an older model that will reliably set blade depth and made to last back when people cared about stuff. If I knew the depth I’d try to mak it myself. It’s a simple thing I don’t understand why Bosch had to cheap out and resort to landfill grade accessories for their tools cutting blades. No satisfaction from Bosch. I did find out that if you care to use a torque wrench to set your bolts, you should set between 6-10 Nm oh and they’ll pass along my dissatisfaction to the products team so that they can continue to improve and provide quality tools and accessories. I wish the picture could convey how much this thing looks like a April fools joke. Which is at the users expense by the way. This is really sad!
