McKleinLaptop Rolling Briefcase, Red Leather (96616)

This was the second of two bags that I purchased to contain my "rolling office" as I travel between three different work duty stations. The first was functional, but looked more like carry-on baggage (which I actually kept for that purpose) than a professional briefcase.This McKlein bag is made of quality leather in a gorgeous shade and has all the utility and functionality of a well-crafted briefcase. Its megasize and loads of pockets allow me to carry and easily access my laptop and accessories, plus numerous files, reference books, legal pads, pens, pencils, office supplies, phone, etc.Although I rarely take it off the smooth-rolling and maneuverable dolly, it's easy to do so by removing the clips that attach it. I'm not sure why other reviewers complain about the clips being easy to lose, since they snap right back into place on the dolly once the bag has been removed. The rain cover is a nice idea, but I haven't used it, since it's easy enough to sling the bag over my shoulder by the detachable strap rather than drag it through puddles on rainy days.In short, I'm a little obsessed with this bag -- so much so that on the days when my job seems too much to endure and jumping ship seems tempting, what keeps me around is not my work or my colleagues, but how much I will miss not using this briefcase every day!

I just received this case today, so if I find any issues as I begin using it I will edit my review. The case is beautiful! The red is the darker red that looks professional. The leather is very stiff, which I saw some people complain about. I like the stiffness because I carry two laptops and I want a case that will keep its shape with the weight. The padded insert fits my 17-inch laptop perfectly. I have enough room for both laptops and some paperwork. Could possibly fit a change of clothes in there as long as it wasn't too bulky. The case clips to the trolly with four plastic clips. The clips come off completely when you remove the case, so you'll need to be careful not to lose them. An extra clip is attached to the trolly in case you need it. There is also a rain cover, but it's not a very heavy or sturdy looking cover. The shoulder strap is also included in case you want to carry this case on your shoulder when it's detached. The flap on the front pocket latches in securely - it's not a magnet fastener. I'm about 5 foot 5 and the handle is about the perfect height for me. If you are tall, you might find it too short. Overall, I love this case already and am looking forward to using it.Edit: The last bit of the handle was stuck and so I thought it was short. In fact, the handle is taller than the last bag I had. I got a lot of compliments on this bag so far. I have zero complaints!One last edit: I have now taken the bag on a trip and it was pretty much as expected. This bag is wider in order to handle the 17 inch laptop and so it's harder to maneuver down the airplane aisle and didn't fit under the seat on my flights. I just picked it up to go through the plane and put it in the overhead. I think it's less likely to get damaged there anyway. Other than that it was great to use on my trip. I got lots of compliments on it!Edited for addition: I've now had this case almost 3 years and it looks as beautiful as it did on day one. It's not scuffed or scratched at all. I carried it to an office daily for about a year and now I work from home and carry it on trips and to client meetings about once a week. It's really lived up to it's promise. Ordered this bag to use for every day commute to work with my laptop without having to put it on my shoulder. It has a separate laptop sleeve which Velcros into the bag and makes it easy to slide in and out daily while keeping my laptop safe. There are several extra pockets to bring work home daily and store the items I always want with me.I occasionally travel and will be able to use carry on (and only need take out the laptop sleeve) laptop bag. It is not large enough to be the only bag you take if you want to travel with just a carry on. However, I have found it is small enough to take as my personal bag and will stack on top of my other wheeled carry on.Love the quality; love the room, love the color; love the sizeLeather is a little stiff at first but it is going to last a long time.

I bought this for a work trip and I have gotten SO MANY COMPLIMENTS on it from coworkers and strangers in the airport! It looks professional and polished. I adore the green color and it has a pearly-sheen that wasn’t apparent from the listing but it’s lovely. The wheels and handle are sturdy and smooth. I like that you can unclip the case from the wheel/apparatus so you carry it like a briefcase if you wish. My only disappointment is that while there is a place to put on a shoulder strap, it didn’t come with one.

I purchased this bag to use exclusively for work and to transport my laptop and a few files back and forth to the office. It has been great so far. I would caution just a tad that the handle isn't as sturdy as I would think it should be, but I haven't had any issues with it. This might be an issue for some. However, it's not like I am planning to jerk the bag around by its handle anytime on a consistent basis.I haven't disconnected the bag from the wheels yet, nor have I used the rain protection cover. I have received a LOT of comments on the bag. I am very satisfied with my purchase and it will serve my needs.

This breifcase is absolutely beautiful! I'm using it for school. I love the color (red) and the fact that it is versatile. Love choices!! It fits my 15.6inch laptop with a little room to go. So professional looking!!!

I love it all

I debated over buying the bag for at least two years. I'm thrilled I have it now. The detachable wheel system in an awesome innovation. It's brilliant. I use it for presentations all over my community and traveling. The leather is gorgeous and it is stiff enough it will hold it shape for a long time. I told time to spray and polish it (like a leather shoe) so that if scuffed, only that layer is damaged and wipes away. it's only a few pounds and without the wheels, it is a classy looking briefcase. I get nothing but complements every time I use the bag. The weather-protector was well hidden in the detachable wheels, and works very well. The back is much quieter when rolling that my last couple of wheeled laptop bags.I completely, completely love the bag. Mine was missing the shoulder strap but I contacted Amazon and they are looking into it now.Only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner. It's great bag!

I was looking for something to take my laptop and other bits and pieces to and from the office. I'd been using a backpack which didn't look fabulous but did the job. This new mobile laptop is fantastic and I get so many good comments.
