I got it for helping make holes for planting plants. Very useful. So far, it's still intact, has not broken. For anyone who hasn't use an electric drill before, you do have to be careful when drilling especially with this kind of auger. You'll be drilling into the ground where there may be obstacles like rocks and areas where the dirt is more compacted. The drill can snap back on you. I hold the drill between my legs to prevent injury to my hands. It went right through the clay with no problem. My only issue with this is if you go to fast, it will bend the end of the tool. I fixed it easy but you want to use this on the lowest speed. Great Tool for the money, Also, the gloves that came with it are an added bonus. I didn't even notice that the right glove has claws. Bummer.I got this auger bit in order to make planting bulbs and such easier on our property.
