Koldfront WAC8003WCO 8000 BTU 115V Window Air Conditioner with Dehumidifier and Remote Control

Purchased this model on 7/2022. Used it -2022,2023 . This summer 2024 in died only a humming sound every 5-10 minutes. I had also purchased 2- WAC6002WC0 Koldfront models (that are discontinued) and are working perfectly .... still. otherwise it worked perfectly for only 2 summers/NYC.In addition purchased 7/5/23 this wall model WTC10002WCO115V works beautifully.

I bought this to cool an office / jam room in my garage and it's working out just fine. If I have another fan helping to distribute the air I can leave this unit on its efficiency setting. I'm in FL and I keep the temp set to 76 or 77 when I'm in there. (I raise it to 81 overnight) It's about as noisy as every other room A/C I've ever heard. I don't think there is that much of a difference between most units. The little remote doesn't work all that well but how often do you need a remote for an air conditioner? I've had it a year now and no issues.

Works great and very quiet

I can live with the noise level being a little louder than my other little window unit I had because it works so well. I didn't have a remote control before so this is massive improvement in itself. I don't need the cooling so much as the Dry setting and since I installed this, I've slept better than I have in as long as I can remember - there's actually humidity in CA now and it's the most uncomfortable sleeping temperature. I didn't rate the Energy Efficiency because I haven't had it long enough to know how much of a difference it makes yet. Super thrilled and happy with this unit, room cools down in minutes and it maintains the temp. Love it.

I am very happy with this window A/C; ordered it in April and it came quickly (I see it is still available even though it is almost July). It does a good job cooling the room and is fairly quiet. A good deal.

My experience with Koldfront was not good. I researched the company and the site lead you to believe that they were made in the U.S. but they are made in China. I guess many units are. I found that it accumulated water in the base which in S. Florida with the high humidity also caused mold quickly. Also, thee remote control seemed cheesy and cheap and didn’t work precisely. I was very disappointed as it seemed to have good reviews. Also, there is no return policy, so I will have to try to sell it and buy another brand.
