Great for Dry Eye and Eye Pain !!!
I see fro other reviews that most people take this for Migraine Headaches. I do no suffer from Migraines, but I do have eye pain caused by a large eye floater which subsequently caused some retinopathy. This happened 2 years ago. I was told that either it would heal on its own, or require surgery within a year. I am not a believer in surgery until it is absolutely necessary. I opted for supplements designed to heal the retina. Riboflavin (Vit.B2) and Thiamine (B1), Collageni.C and Hyalauronic Acid, Taurine, Vit A, Betacarotene, Lycopene have cured most of my eye problems. Light sensitivity, eye pain, swelling, dry eye, blurred vision and eye strain, have all been decreased dramatically by using this protocol. My retina is healed and my eyesight is improving. I mix the B2, B1, Taurine, & Collagen in V8 Tomato Juice. The tomato juice is also rich in Vitamin A. The tomato juice is strong enough to mask the taste of the vitamins. (most taste terrible) I love my "recipe" and will never be without it. I use a lot of Bulk Supplements products and I find all of them to be excellent products. I highly recommend Bulk Supplements

Always great products
I try to get as many of my supplements from this company as I can. They are always good quality, competitively priced, and seem to be adding new products all the time. After ordering another product I was offered the opportunity to receive a product of my choice in exchange for my honest review. I greatly appreciate this as well as I get the opportunity to try something new with the risk of feeling it was money down the drain if it's no good, or just no good for me. Truthfully I never really fear this with this company, I've been using their products for years and will continue to do so. It's difficult to say whether this specific product is doing a whole lot as it was prescribed by my neurologist at a dosage of 400mg daily as part of a migraine reduction regimen. What I can say is most B vits nearly gag me they smell so bad just opening the bottle, and it takes a LOT to kick this in for me. I was a little worried about getting powdered B's fearing it would ruin my AM cocktail but this one is practically odorless and changed nothing about the taste of my drink so I'm pretty happy :)

Beat up package with stains
When I reached out to the seller about the bag being beat up and stained, they said Riboflavin has a yellow color to the powder and that most likely during production, the powder got on the bags. Of course, I can pay to return it ...

Did not buy as a supplement, though I did save some for that use.
It can be added to frosting or drinks in small amounts for interesting effect during a black-light party! But my use was VERY different.... I had a leak in my home well water pump system that I needed to trace. ALL commercial water tracing products had ingestion warnings / not fit for human consumption.Fortunately, riboflavin strongly fluoresces under UV light, is consumable even in large doses, and water soluble. That last part is most important, because not only will it easily mix in my water system, any amount ingested that the body cannot use will be easily expelled!I added about 1/2 the package to my water system, waited till nightfall, then easily found the source of my leak & the 2x increased electricity bill that let me know something was wrong... Although the main leak could be seen during daytime (as seen in attached photo), there were 2 smaller leaks that I wasn't able to see till night time & would never have found without the intense UV glow of the riboflavin.ONLY downside, riboflavin is VERY bitter. Also I had to let it go into my water heater because I didn't know if it was hot or cold line that was leaking.... It's already completely flushed out of the cold water lines, but still tints the hot water.

Riboflavin is an essential cofactor for many metabolic reactions
Riboflavin is important to the metabolism in several ways, including- Conversion of vitamin B6 to P5P- Conversion of the amino acid tryptophan to niacin (vitamin B3)- Folate production- Regulation of homocysteine levels- Metabolism of fats, hormones, and drugs- Energy production and growthRiboflavin is degraded by sunlight, and UV light. This applies to stored riboflavin whether in bulk, in milk, or even in your body.Like sun exposure, greater physical activity, also increases the body's need for riboflavin.A deficiency can easily go unnoticed as riboflavin levels are not routinely tested.Meat and dairy products are the primary sources of dietary riboflavin. Even vegans who eat an otherwise nutritious diet are at often at risk of riboflavin deficiency. (Oats are the best non-animal natural source.)Riboflavin is recommended for preventing migraine headaches in both adults and children.Increasing riboflavin intake reduces the risk of lung cancer in smokers. Riboflavin's coenzyme activity is theorized likely to help prevent may other types of cancer.Riboflavin is a cofactor for the MTHFR enzyme so individuals with a SNP that reduces the efficiency of the enzyme should take care to avoid any deficiency.Riboflavin may help prevent the development of cataracts.Riboflavin has no known toxic level. it has no adverse side effects from high short-term or long-term supplementation. Finally, riboflavin has no known clinically important interactions with medications. In short, Riboflavin is extremely safe.Like all B vitamins, riboflavin is water soluble.
