I used water to fill the bases of the poles. It works great for recreational volleyball, but if you're doing anything hardcore, it may not be sturdy enough for spikes. I love it and it works great for having friends over to play in our pool. Good quality net! However we didn't use the ball that came with it. We ended up buying a beach ball... more fun and not as hard with less people.

I purchased this pool volleyball set to take with us to the Outer Banks to use at the pool at the house where a large group of couples would be staying (16 of us total!) The pool is kidney-shaped and has a narrower piece near the middle which is where we put the net and it had room to spare (could have accommodated even a larger span over the pool.) It was quite simple to fill the bases with water and the only challenge we had was the occasional drooping of the net which required a bit of tightening of the rope holding it up. The ball that came with the set was PERFECT for the pool (sturdier than a beach ball but not as potentially violent as a real volleyball.) We did establish a no spiking rule as that not only potentially compromised the net (that's the only time the supports tipped at all) but it might have resulted in some black eyes! Playing in the deep end was more challenging than in the shallow, but it was fun to try to come up with new ways to make it work and we rotated sides to keep it fair. It was possibly the most fun part of the trip and everyone was so glad I purchased this set! I would ABSOLUTELY recommend it - especially as this was the BEST priced set I found in all of my research.

Had to change out rubber volleyball for something a little lighter to play with. Besides that easy to set up and everything as pictured. We had lots of family fun with this item.

Do not buy unless you are expecting a very cheap and poorly made product. First- The actual net is only about 10' wide and is very cheaply made. The stands (poles) that are supposed to keep the net tight are also very cheaply made. If you plan on having a tight fit net... forget about it. If you try to tighten the net the entire system bends and ends up falling apart. I had to prop 4 35lb sand bags against the poles just to keep the net semi tight. Do not waist your money. Just look at the picture.. Your net will sag just like that !!

I was attracted to the price, which was an the best feature, but one strong wind took the item a part. if you're looking for a one time game, yeah it's an option, but if you're looking for a permanent feature - definitely would not suggest this item. Easy to assemble. It's one of those items you need to put up and take down after use. If that's your plan, go for it. If you're like me and want bad minton in the pool all summer - pass on this item.

Was inexpensive, but it's lasted, and been months. I was skeptical, but now appreciate. The "poles' that hold the net can easily be lifted out of the base so it's super quick to stand up/down the net. Kids like it.

The volleyball net is alright. It does not fully cover our 20ft wide pool but it was still nice for the price. It goes with a decent sized rubber ball, but I would recommend buying a bigger one if you want to go pro. The height itself though was to small. We rose it about 4 feet with several buckets around the house. We also had to use a couple bricks and tape to hold the base down so it does not tip into the pool. I myself was not willing to shell out $150 so this is a nice cheap product. In the end, I would recommend to buy this if you are looking for a nice relaxing semi-competitive game. If you are looking for a top of the line volleyball net, you are in the wrong place. But overall this is still a nice net with some modifications. The photo attached shows the net with the modifications.

Reading the many reviews for and against this pool volleyball set, I can only say it's more than adequate to put a net of fun across your pool. I like the fact you can put it up and take it down which I would never leave it up if not being immediately used. It's a "fun" net; not a serious volleyball net. We put up the pool "safety line" for a back-line and had a blast! As a note, I thought the volleyball was missing (it's shipped curled up inside one of the upright poles) and contacted the seller. They immediately shipped a replacement, no questions asked! Can't ask for better than that!
