The rod, at most, slid down the door a few inches when it got yanked really hard once. Other than that, it stays in place. A 4 year old has pulled at the curtain more times than I count and the rod never budges. You know, it is really difficult to find a good magnetic curtain rods. This one is a winner. ►4/20/14 Update: I have two of these curtain rods and both continue to function great. Both are one very active kitchen doors where the curtains get moved often. They never slide. If fact, it is difficult to make them slide.
