Protects the carpeting underneath - Product arrived on time, packaging - just needed to take it out and turn it over so it flattened out, put it in the back of the BMW and zero issues. Great product, obviously great protection covering the cargo area. I had to use this for all baseball and softball gear as well as taking the Saint Bernard back and forth to places like groomers and the vet. Does exactly what it is designed to do. No issues. Review: Good product - This item came a little mishandled. The packaging wasn't great. Considering the liner is a very thick rubber, needless to say, the liner became very malformed it in transport to me. However, I contacted the seller and they were very helpful. The customer service is grade A. I have decided to keep the liner. After a few evenings in a warm room, the liner seemed to go back to its original shape. I am pleased with the product. It looks and fits perfectly in my car. I highly recommend purchasing from this seller. I complained when I got it and was told "I'm sorry, you aren't the first to complain about that, but this is the photo that BMW has given us, so we have to use it." kind of a cop-out excuse but I do believe it. BMW, take a new photo. The product itself is plenty durable but doesn't contour to the storage cubbies perfectly like you would expect on an OEM accessory.
