I guess you get what you pay for...
Very cheap set. We'll start with the wood block it comes with. The cut outs for the knives to slide into are completely uneven and some depths not the same. For example, the steak knives section. Had three or four that wouldn't go in all the way and of course they were varying distances from each other so it looked completely ridiculous. The knives themselves felt very frail and I am doubtful they would last very long at all not to mention keep a sharp edge. So, these went back in the box and were returned to Amazon for a refund.I wouldn't waste your time with these unless you are in the market for a super cheap set of knives with a block that doesn't hold them properly. Not sure what all the rave is about these from other reviewers.

Functional knives that get the job done
I recently moved into a place by myself and needed to get some of the essentials. I shopped around for knives on Amazon and found the huge differences in price between knife sets. I'm not a chef and I really just needed something that would cut. I liked the idea of having steak knives as well, in case some people came over to grill or what not. This set does what it needs to and the wooden block looks great. Overall the quality of the cutting knives is pretty solid. They do need to be sharpened sometimes but they definitely get the job done. I've also really liked the kitchen scissors that have been able to tackle anything I throw at them. The only thing that could be better are the serrated steak knives. They seem to be thinner and feel cheaper then the rest of the set. Luckily though I use these the least. Overall, with knives I feel like you get what you pay for, and these provide great utility for a great price. Also I don't ever put mine in the dishwasher but I do leave them in the sink overnight from time to time. I have not seen any rust on them. I know some reviewers were complaining about rust. (I've had these for about 4 months)

Great starter set!
Such a steal for the price! They have a decent weight to them, but aren't too heavy. They all work perfectly and I use them daily. They look great, as well. I've only ever had to sharpen them once so far in the 2 years I've had them. I only wish there were more types of knives instead of the serrated ones, as I don't typically reach for those. They separate from food very easily, unlike some more expensive knives I own. You won't be slicing tomatoes paper thin, but if you need a starter set and cook often, these are perfect!

ok for price. steak knives not good
Ok. Lets be clear. This is a very inexpensive knife and block set. For a set in this price range - great buy. For a knife set overall - they are ok. My 4 star rating is based on value for cost. However, I plan on continuing to shop for a new block and knife set. The knives are thin and the handles don't feel really solidly attached. The block has some fraying around the knife slots. Not what I expect from butcher block. The block is heavy though and I believe it is a solid piece. The biggest issue I have is with the steak knives. Bear with me this is tricky to explain. While they are serrated, they are not smooth with a "wave" pattern where each little peak comes to a point. Instead they are "toothed" so the blade edge looks like the top of a castle wall. Because the peaks are square the blade tears the meat rather than cuts it.Now for disclosure time. I got this as part of a reviewer program. Trust me. You want me reviewing this stuff because I have no qualms about saying something is garbage even if I got it for free. I tell it like I see it. Missing shears and crushed filthy box
Bought these knives for our camper since they were so inexpensive. Package came all dented up and dirty. Seller had to have known, as the outside amazon box was in perfect condition. I’m glad I wasn’t planning on gifting it! The covers to the knives do not stay on, they’re too big which isn’t a. Big deal as I’m going to use the block. Haven’t tested the knife itself yet but I was missing the shears so now I have to buy some of them as well.

Two years in, they’ve still held up for the most part!
Ordered these two years ago...weirdly enough, a couple of the knives got a little bit of rust on them a few weeks after purchasing but since then, they’ve held up surprisingly well and have not accumulated any more rust. The scissors unfortunately broke while cutting some flower stems, so that was a bummer. These are not amazing but you’re getting what you pay for and they’re a pretty solid starter set of knives for anyone who hasn’t ever owned them.

and won't recommend it. But I guess you get what you ...
Bought this knife set for a vacation rental home. We stayed there and my husband was using one of the larger knives when the wooden (plastic?) handle came apart exposing the metal part of the knife. Luckily it happened with us, and not with a guest! Definitely won't buy this brand again, and won't recommend it. Unfortunately, we had bought two sets as two of the knives from the first set went missing. So now I'm stuck with a a full set of knives, and a second set minus two missing and one broken knife. But I guess you get what you pay for.

... set for several weeks now and have been really happy with it
We had this set for several weeks now and have been really happy with it. The block is sturdy and a nice compact size. We don't have a lot of counter space and the block takes up about half as much space as our previous knife block did. The knives themselves are sharp and balanced. They are a good weight for easy chopping but not so heavy it would wear you out. I would recommend getting a sharpening kit as well because like any good knife set they will need to be sharpened to maintain the quality of the blades. Overall I feel like this a good set for the money spent.
