My father installed it for me and said that we should have gotten one like this from the start. Our sliding barn door is in our basement with a concrete floor which isn't totally level so installing floor mounted guides requires drilling and special concrete screws and shims. This attaches to the studs in the wall (or use anchors) and the rolling guides are adjustable in height which for us was a necessity since the floor is concrete and there is a little extra space between the bottom of the door and the floor due to the door hanging measurements taking the height of flooring into account. It was super easy to install, the door glides nicely through it and its sturdy which is important when you have 3 small kids yanking on the door to open/close it. The entire bathroom was renovated, adding a solid wood classic 6 panel door. The home is a very traditional colonial design, which required us using less rustic hardware. This guide fit the bill! Our contractor cut into the thickish floor moulding into to place the guide to the wall. The guide became quite inconspicuous, sinking into the carpet. It keeps the door in place, glides easily and is very quiet.
