I would say these are like underwear you probably would expect to have got decades ago, very thick fabric, sturdy. I bought the 12-16 size. I am between sizes and tend to go for bigger pants (size 14) for comfort so was worried these would be too small but I think any bigger would have been pointless, you need them to be snug to keep all the lumps and bumps in. Did wonder how I was going to get them on (getting them off was another matter, lots of shimmying). They go right up to under my bra and are very snug. They don't have a silicone like layer at the top which some types of tummy control pants have to grip the skin. Instead they have at the front and back two vertical strips of thicker fabric, almost like creating a boning effect. Haven't worn them for long so not sure what they would be like for a whole day but for what I need them for they are perfect. Would def wear other underwear underneath, especially like silky pants, purely to help these slide off.
