Make Learning FUN!
These cards are a great way to get kids interested in learning sight words. I chose to start using SnapWords to teach sight words to my Pre-K students primarily because the method is a fun way for students to understand and associate the words into their lives. Similar to how, as preschoolers, they learned the alphabet by creating fun letter art. (X made into an xylophone, B made into a bear, etc). I believe my students learn better when they are having fun and these cards are a lot of fun compared to basic memorization. One side of the cards has a picture that visually demonstrates the motion for the word (for students). On the back of the card, the sight word is written in simple black font with a detailed explanation on how to motion the word (for adults). I debated between ordering the flash card size or the pocket chart size, and ultimately chose the smaller size so the kids could eventually use them on their own in our pocket chart center in class. I would recommend laminating the cards for extra durability. They are printed on heavy card stock, however they are still pliable (see photo). Plus laminating the cards protects them against spills or markers, etc (which is important in a preschool!) To begin teaching with the cards I come up with a story that frequently uses the sight word. After, I'll talk about that specific word and then introduce the card along with the motions. I ask the student to repeat the word with the motion to me and then turn to their partner and repeat the motion to each other. I also like to make harder words our password for the day to exit class or move onto a fun activity (free choice or recess). After most of the students have memorized the word I flip it over to the plain word and put it on our word wall pocket chart. When reviewing, if students struggle with the sight word I will flip the card over to the motion graphic again. I highly recommend these to parents who want to introduce sight words or reinforce the words their kids are learning in class. I recommend these to teachers looking for a new and fun way to teach or expand the memorization efforts for words.

Students making significant progress
Way more expensive then making your own but my students love them! They love the 'drama' to help them remember them. My Special Ed and ESL students have made significant progress! They progressed through both sides of the card and now recognize the sight words within text. I think they work great in the pocket charts - right size but my groups are small and close to the board. You might want the larger set if it's for the whole class to see but they are the same size as ones used in a first grade classroom for their word wall. I use them as flashcards and to play various games and learning activities. I ordered set 2!

Great help!
These cards are amazing. I purchased a pack years ago for my older child that is on the spectrum and was having difficulties learning the sight words. These cards made it easy for him to learn the necessary sight words. Now I have a new pack for my younger child. Can't recommend enough.

Creative teaching resource!
I will be using these cards to help teach sight words to my students. Some students struggle with sight words so I hope the pictures and sentences that explain the pictures will aid in their learning. The cards are smaller than I expected but I am sure they will work fine.

Blown away . Seriously . My kid WANTS to read now !
It sounds crazy to give flash cards such high praise but These cards are amazing !!! My son is 7 and has mild dyslexia . He has struggled so much with reading and has very low confidence with it . We literally opened these cards and he sounded out the first 20 or so using the pictures for clues , we then repeated those same cards and he read every word without hesitation ( that’s a big deal !!) so I figured ok that was crazy let’s turn them around and try without the pictures . I honesty was expecting him to be sounding out each word again and switching around letters but he didn’t !!!!! You guys this is my son who would read the word “ cat “ and five words later read it as “tac” or “act” needing to decode it again even though he just read it . But he read all the words instantly on the pictureless side with no hesitation and that Was after only reviewing the with pictures side twice !! I am completely awe struck and so grateful . His confidence grew immensely in just a few mins and he asked to read them again , ASKED ! He enjoyed having the ability to read them and was so proud of himself . This all took place in 10 mins . I don’t often write reviews and I am not impressed easily . This is a big deal . If we got results like this in just a few mins imagine a few days or weeks . These cards are worth every penny . Your child will thank you .

It is okay but definitely overpriced
I got this for my 5 year old son. He is autistic and started kindergarten this year. I wanted to teach him sight words ahead of school so it will be easier for him. The cards are the right size not too big and not too small, they seem to be durable but the pictures, the drawing are so confusing and covering the words, my son many times says something different even though I know he knows those words so now I don’t even show him the one with the picture just with the word itself. I think for $20 that’s overrated and overpriced. I would be happy spend big half of it, I would have returned them but unfortunately missed the return window. There are other better options for less that I would recommend.

They work!
These cards are absolutely amazing! My daughter skipped Pre-K and went straight into Kindergarten having no sight words memorized. She was struggling and I was worried she would fall behind so I bought these. These cards worked like a charm. They have helped her to learn all her sight words very quickly and the teacher even commented that she noticed a big improvement. I've happily bought pack B and C as well and recommend these to anyone who will listen including my sister who doesn't even have children yet.
