Totally agree - I have bought 3 pair, and they are all slightly different. My shoe size is 8-1/2, but I have a wide foot, so I always order a 9 (when I was a kid I had to order a 10!!). The first pair I bought were great. The second pair are slightly more tight, but still okay. I had to return this third pair because they are simply too tight, and my heel sits on the edge of the back part.

Size 5bm - does that mean size 5 us?

All all I can say is that I ordered a 9 and it fit perfectly as any other size 9 and so comfortable.

I have a pair of Dawgs now and on the bottom it says 7/8. What size do I order? I usually wear and 8 in a regular shoe.

My Dawgs say 9/40 on the bottom. (40 is the European size.) I wear a 9 shoe, so they work perfectly for me. I think you should order an 8. As far as I know Dawgs no longer come with two sizes listed on the same shoe. Good luck to you.

what is the actual height difference be the heel and the platform? dr wants a half inch

I believe the height of the heel compared to the height at the sole is at least 1", maybe even 1.25" My feet hurt a lot if I wear flats, even 1/2" is too low for me. These sandals are very comfortable for me.
