Product Description Angostura named its rum "1919" to honor the year in which the remaining charred casks were filled before the devastating fire at the Government Rum Bond in 1932. Mr. Fernandes, the master distiller at Angostura, purchased these casks, which contained rum aged since 1919. His discovery and skillful blending of this vintage rum became the foundation for "1919 Aged Rum."
