Twists and turns... bring them on
4.5 stars!Truth left us with our jaws hanging open and wondering. Wondering WTH! Well, Convicted kind of starts out that way. You are left a little confused for a short while in the beginning. Then things start to kick in. Things start to click in place. You are wanting Claire and Tony together... But unsure if the way things are around them if that will happen! You are left asking yourself for a quite a while, why can't they just get everyone out of their way and just get things the way they should?Claire has to protect hers. Tony needs to protect what is his. The turmoil that surrounds their circumstances makes it seem almost impossible. All the while, the ones who have pulled things apart and torn their relationship to shreds needs to be brought to justice.Just when you thought all of the secrets have been laid before you... there are more! The secrets go deeper than we could have thought. Things are going to get hairy before they have a small chance of working themselves out...Trust is one thing that none of the characters have much of. The lines of what really is going on are so blurred, I almost thought that those involved would never see through the smoke!I am not a spoiler... hence my cryptic review. It is hard to write about this book without giving too much away! I have read reviews that I would not have wanted to read before I read the book. I never want to know more than the bare necessities of a story before I read it. So that is what I am giving you. Trust me, this is a must read. It is the grand finale to the series, and it goes out with a bang or two!

Too long!!!
The first book was great--5 stars!. The second was good--4 stars. This one--the third--was too long, ridiculously the, and didn't reveal anything that couldn't have been included in book 2. I'd rate it 2.5 to 3 stars. Too much filler!I loved Tony's complex character but thought he should've figured Catherine out earlier than he did. After all, who else would have had the information that was sent to Claire?!I recommend reading the first 2 books and reading any spoilers about the last ones. That being said, I did find the books from Tony's point of view to be very interesting; however, even they should've been combined in one book instead of two.One other observation: Ms. Romig takes a rather vague and subdued approach to sex scenes in this series. I haven't read any of her other books so I'm not sure if a similar approach is used in any of those,

Book 3 of 5 in series
It took me a lot of patience to get to the end of this book. Honestly, I skipped to the ending first and then went back and read from the beginning. Sue me! I wanted to know what was going to happen. However the author skips around in this story from past to present so much that it really didn't matter that I read the ending first since the whole story goes back and forth. Not to mention there's a lot going on and it was really hard to keep up with it all. When I started reading this third book, I was already pulling for Claire and Tony to get some kind of happy ending. Yeah, he's an a$$ who did terrible things to Claire, but for some reason in his twisted brain I think he truly loved and cared for Claire more than anyone else in her life. There are a number of truths told and unexpected twists that happen. We learned at the end of Truth that Catherine was not who we or Tony thought. Well, we learn a lot more about her in this story and she's so much worse than Tony could even try to be. My feelings are on the fence about Emily - still not real sure whether I like or dislike her. A number of the other characters (i.e. Phil, Courtney, Brent) you grow to truly like and know by their actions that they have both Tony and Claire's best interests and happiness at heart. The ending wraps up fairly quickly and leaves a couple of unanswered questions. There are two additional books that have now been released in this series, so I imagine the answers will be there.Overall I liked the series okay. It's not one I'll re-read and I haven't decided whether or not I'll buy the next books.

Starts off ok but went downhill
So I really enjoyed the first book, I found it intriguing but then somewhat unbelievable on the "victim falls for abuser" side, a point which Ms Romig tries unsuccessfully to justify throughout the next two books.I then downloaded the 2nd and 3rd books as I wanted to know what happened. The second book and the first half of the third book were incredibly slow and repetitive - I almost gave up a number of times and it took me a lot longer to finish the books than is usual for me as I found it very easy to put down - never a good sign.It picks up again in the last few chapters of book three. Still pretty unbelievable. There were lots of holes in the plot, a lot of things seemed to be poorly researched and if felt as though the writer was scared of the subject matter on occasion, I totally get that not every female writer wants to write graphic sex scenes but it was as if this was written for an early teen age group - a bit more detail would have made it more credible. Also, with the abuse in the first book, it was all hinted at but no real description.None of the characters are particularly likeable. I read another review say that she hated Anthony in the first book and absolutely loved him in the others..... I just don't understand how. The guy is an arrogant monster. Claire is vacuous at best and I felt no sympathy for her at any point. The rest of the characters are one dimensional.

There are not enough words to praise this amazing work of literature! An absolute must read !!
It is a cliche I know, everyone on this review page has said the same thing, one way or another.....BEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just W*O*W !!I picked up the first in this series as it sounded good and Ms Romig was not known to me prior to the first in the series, 'Consequences', being listed on the free book page while I was browsing. I read a lot and very quickly so need lots of books to keep me entertained. I was broke so looking for a free read to fill my time.Serendipity or what? I found the most amazing story that I have ever read written in the most magical, professional way I have ever encountered!!To use the normal praise words is insufficient for this priceless literary gem! The writing is better than first rate and reminds me of the greats of classical literature. Ms Romig's way with words and her story structure are an absolute amazement, I am so impressed I cannot tell you in simple words, they are all inadequate in this instance.Right from the start this story is special, not your usual kidnap/domination/love/industrial espionage/murder story in any shape or form, this story transcends anything I have ever read in these genres. It falls within any and all of those genres yet maintains it's separation from all of them and evolves into an amazing, mind blowing, attention holding set of books. An absolute literary masterpiece in my book ( if you'll pardon the pun), simply a triumph !The characters, both main and subsidiary/secondary groups are well described and defined, yet there are still twists and surprises along the way that you don't see coming ! You may love, hate, admire or respect the players in this drama; but you will never forget any of them, long after you have finished reading their story. No matter how broke I am in the future, I will make certain that I am able to purchase anything that Ms Romig publishes ! I am well and truly hooked and a huge fan for life ! Thank you so much Aleatha for a long and happy period of entertainment, incredible story with great value for my money in each episode of the series. I love books that go on for a decent length so that I can enjoy them for more than a few hours..Ms Romig gets my BEST BOOK EVER award !! ( so much so that I gave her three !!! )

Fantastic conclusion but I wished for a little bit more
Convicted by Aleatha Romig4.5 stars!!I really wanted to give this one a 5 star review but something held me back giving it that extra little half a star. Whilst we got so much more than I ever anticipated, I also didn't get something that I was really looking forward to. I felt that the part that was missing was going to be a fairly focal part of the book, therefore, I was little bit disappointed. However, what we did get was amazing. From the first few pages I was glued. One thing you can certainly say about Aleatha Romig is that she knows how to start a book, seriously...I was like OMG...WTF...seriously...how did that happen??? I wanted answers and I wanted them like...yesterday!! But no, Aleatha is cruel she makes you wait...a LONG time!! Torture, mental cruelty that is what it was!! I could not read this book quick enough. I wanted to know, I needed to know, I just wanted to KNOW!!!Aleatha leaves no stone unturned in this book, slowly but surely you are drip fed answers like a starving person. You will find your mouth agape on several occasions especially as you are hit with a lot more during this story. Your brain will be going into information melt down.I really advise at least a re-read of Truth before reading this just to reacquaint yourself with all the characters and some really important plot lines.I cannot discuss any part of this book as it will seriously give the game away and that would be a crime. This really is a YOU MUST READ!! This whole series has been a total mind fword and yes whilst I hated Tony in the beginning and then slowly but surely came to love him in Truth, you will absolutely fall head over heels for him in Convicted. This is the amazing part about Aleatha's writing. How can I love someone I totally despised only two books ago?? I keep asking myself that question. This whole series has been fantastic and the conclusion certainly does not let it down, I do feel that there is more in this story to be told. I know that Aleatha has said this is it, but I see more, at least I hope there is more, I don't think that I am ready for this to be the end of Tony and Claire. At least I hope not.

Convicted is the final conclusion to an intricate trilogy executed with exceptional skill. 4*
Wow...the last 20% made this book for me. I never thought I would see the day that I would initiate myself into TEAM TONY, because after Consequences I wanted to wring his neck! Yet, here I am, flying the flag for Mr. Rawlings. It took a while to really get going so the first half fell just a little flat for me, but as more and more of the story unfolded, I found myself devouring the pages with renewed anticipation.REVIEW:`Aleatha Romig is a word weaver of the highest calibre; delivering an intricate trilogy with exceptional skill. Convicted leaves no stone unturned as it takes you on an unforgettable trip into a world-within-a-world, that consists of more surprising revelations and shocking twists'.Kelly - Perusing Princesses blog."I fell in love with you while you were supposed to be my prisoner; however, I've loved you since before I knew love existed"... Anthony RawlingsI won't deny the first few chapters threw me a loop! I was that deer in headlights...again! I wanted to kick myself silly for not going back and re-familiarising myself with the array of characters and each one's plight up to this point - so, for me personally, it took a little while to get completely immersed within this book and appreciate it as it should be. Due to this, please heed my advice and read this trilogy back-to-back if you can. It will help you to experience in its full entirety the impact of a plot so compelling, so complex, it will completely blow your mind!Due to its intricacy, this is probably one of the hardest reviews I have ever had to write, because it all comes down to this book. Many questions are answered, yet many more are raised right from the start, making it almost impossible for me to highlight those without planting spoilers. This is what is so great about Aleatha's magic, she can write a story of countless tragedies, stemming from an old family vendetta, and shroud it in hope, love and forgiveness. How can one man go from public enemy number one, to a husband and a father who will stop at nothing to protect them from someone like himself? All the answers are in Convicted and I have to say, it's a commendable achievement - one that, as a reader, is quite difficult at times to comprehend... but that is Anthony Rawlings. He will certainly surprise you. In-fact, I was waiting for the old Tony to reappear; as scary as that sounds... a part of me missed his cold and calculating ways.I disliked Tony in Consequences, but his unpredictability as a character is what kept me hooked. Not knowing what he was going to do next, or where the story was taking you, made for a refreshing surprise, nevertheless, it was also great to watch him grow and finally accept the `consequences' of his `actions.'Claire has always been our main focus throughout it all; this story, although written in third-person, always projected her voice the loudest as we relive her journey from beginning to end. This woman has gone through so much that if she could manifest herself through the written page, she would likely jump out and smack Ms. Romig in the face - Hell, I wouldn't blame her! Nevertheless, her journey from the innocent college graduate, to the captive bride, to an ex-convict, to a wife and mother is not one I will forget anytime soon; leaving a lasting impression on my book loving heart... and my psyche!Convicted takes you into the future (2016), only then to fill in the gaps from the past three years. Some revelations will shock and confuse you, where others will have you feeling all fuzzy and warm inside. You will question the story throughout, while automatically turning the pages in hope of getting to the other end, unscathed. Claire and Tony's journey has been unpredictable from the word GO, and Convicted continues with that theme in the style of cat and mouse. Just when you thought they could possibly have everything they wanted, Anthony makes a decision that has the potential to destroy everything...Get ready for the ride of your life. Buckle up and hold on tight... but whatever you do, READ IT!!!!

Convicted (Consequences)
I wish I can rate double 5 stars. Convicted tells the story of true friendship, redemption, forgiveness and love. Everything seems to fall apart at one point but all comes together at the end. When I start reading the first chapter, I was completely lost and never would have guessed how this can even happen. Needness to say it is another roller coaster ride. From the book, 99.99% of the questions I had from Consequences and Truth were answered. However, there are other questions arised from this book! There are always surprises in every corner/turn. At 97% of the book, my jaw suddently dropped and hit the ground real hard. I can never see things coming with this series It always can surprise me any time. This means that the books are truely amazing and the author is a genius. I have never read a book that I hold so close to my heart and I think of the development of the story & the major character so often . After finished Convicted, I still can't let go for the story and Tony/Claire and had a major book hangover. I am really glad to know that Aleatha Romig will entice us with "Behind His Eyes" in a near future. I am already looking forward to it.
