As a new user in sharpening knives I have had a tough time of getting my blades sharp. Using the LAVODA Leather Strop Paddle with the polishing compound has really improved my knife sharpening results. Light back and forth strokes result provides a shiny edge that slices paper and cuts carboard with ease. I look forward to sharpeniing now. Combined with sharpening stones the LAVODA Leather Strop Paddle is the ultimate finisher in creating a really sharp edge.

Good looking product havnt got to use

After purchasing a fixed angle diamond sharpener, I started getting excellent edges on my knives. I bought this strop to make the edges last longer (polished metal is more impervious to corrosion & wear). This has proven true. After using my knives out in the woods for my annual adventure, I returned for the first time with my knives still incredibly sharp.

Not much to say. It's great for the price and does it's job nicely... I would suggest getting compound else where but the strop works well with hood compound applied. I use compound from knafs. I also have one of the knafs travel strops that live in my knife maintenance kit. This strop lives at home and is hanging on the wall ready for use.

It got my previously sharpened straight razor from too dull to cut any arm hair to usable for shaving. Strop compound colors are confusing as white is typically a finer grit but I took the product description at face value. As such I applied white (labeled coarse1 micron grit) to the suede (rougher) side and green (0.5 micron smoother grit) to the smooth leather side. As seen in the photo there are several inch long indentations in the smooth leather and I am concerned they will throw off the consistency of the finish.

I love the size of this strop. I had been using a piece of leather on the counter, but this works much bertter because you can pick it up and hold it at the proper angle. 5-6 strokes on each side of the blade before or after cutting keeps the edge super sharp for a long time.
