DOES NOT WORK WITH POWERED ANTENNA.
This review is for the 4 channel amplified splitter. Hooked this up to my rotating antenna to try to help boost the signal. You know the $25 Chinese rotating antenna that a bunch of people selling under different names. The antenna worked great but for whatever reason I have a hard time getting abc where I live with any antenna so I figured I’d give it a shot. The picture on every channel dropped out and had no signal with this amplifier plugged in. I’m assuming since the antenna is powered through the coaxial cable, the amplifier is interfering with the signal or just cancelling it out. It does say for passive antennas only but figured I’d give it a gamble and lost. I also checked the GE website and found absolutely no info on it so I wonder if they even make it or someone using their name? Anyway don’t waste your money if you have an amplified or powered antenna of any kind because it won’t work.

Inexpensive, effective signal amplifier.
Used this unit to amplify the signal from an outdoor antenna so I could distribute it to two television receivers (one a small flat-screen, and the other a very old CRT television with a digital converter box). Worked fine for the purpose -- a reasonably-priced solution, easy to use, and resulting in a clear, usable signal for both receivers.

Didn't work for me (70 mile range to tower)
I purchased a Winegard amplifier to use in conjunction with this GE amplified splitter to boost free reception channels from my RCA roof top mounted exterior antenna, which is a 45 mile range unit, however my nearest towers are about 70 miles away as the crow flies according to Tower finder websites. With that said, using the Winegaurd amplifier with the GE splitter, I could not pick up any channels on my samsung TV when checking for air channels. However, Using the winegaurd amp with a standard non-powered 2150mghz 4 way splitter, I was able to pick up 76 channels crystal ear. Using the GE splitter connected directly to the antenna, I was unable to get any channels. Using the GE splitter connected to the winegaurd amp coming off the antenna, I still Could NOT pick up any channels. Not sure if the GE unit is faulty or what, but I certainly couldn't get it to work. I tried using the GE splitter in several other variations, but still never could get it to work. However the winegaurd unit is working almost flawlessley. I say almost because my limitations are due to My antenna. I have ordered and will be installing a longer range directional antenna tonsee if that “holds” our freebie channel reception. For reference, our Exterior antenna is connected via roughly 50’ of RG6 quadshield spliced via f-connectors and a barrel, once at the antenna, and again at the AV closet where in runs into the 4-way tap. So it is relatively a close run from the antenna location to the 4-way splitter which then feeds all the TV’s in the house through RG6.

Works very well but depends a lot on the antenna quality and signal strength in your area.
I connected this amplifier to a brand new RCA ANT705 antenna from Walmart that I installed in the attic and was able to pick up about less than half the channels available here in the greater Los Angeles area. I later decided to move the antenna outside to the roof instead and picked up a few more channels but not all of them, too much pixelation and signal loss. I removed the new RCA antenna and installed an old Channel Master 3010 that I had before and with the amplifier was able to pick up ALL the channels available with almost 90% signal in most of the channels. The worst ones showed 2 out of 5 bars on my TV but the image quality was flawless. So yes, it really depends on the antenna quality (you get what you pay for), where you set it up and potential interference from nearby buildings, trees or cell towers. The amplifier really improves the reception though, if I power it off the antenna by itself doesn't do much. The RCASignalFider app helped a lot with fine tuning the orientation towards Mount Wilson (26 miles away from my house), where the TV towers are located in this area. BUY A GOOD QUALITY ANTENNA LIKE CHANNEL MASTER, don't expect the amplifier to do miracles. It takes some work to find a good spot for reception, it's trial and error and very time consuming but rewarding since I don't have to pay for cable.

Updated - This is a cheap amplifier...But, I found its capabilities as well
How do you mess up a clear strong signal with a distribution amplifier? VHF signals are fine. It inserts all kinds of noise in most parts of the UHF bands. I was getting better with an inline Antec "smart" amplifier and a high-end 3-way splitter (5db loss). Update: As it turns out, the signal strength from my native antenna input with a GE pre-amp was too strong for this amplifier. So in my case, on my third attempt to use this amplifier, I added a 17db attenuator, killing the noise floor, but also killing several low power digital subchannels that I don't really watch. I fed that greatly reduced signal to the amplifier and it is working like a champ for both VHF Hi and UHF sources. As for attenuation used, all I can say is that is application and location specific. Most of my channels broadcast from 15 miles away, but two of the main networks broadcast from 50 miles away, which is why I needed the pre-amp. I have a number of coax attenuators ranging from 3db to 17db. I found that 12db attenuation would also likely work, but the cleanest signal in my case was the absolute best at removing all the noise from multi-path, LTE, and weather. This GE distribution amplifier then brought everything up to a respectable and solid 50~55% signal strength for all of the channels. I am no longer calling this a junk amplifier, but also clear there is no intelligence with this amplifier...it AMPs the signal, regardless. So keep that in mind when using it.

Works great for long coax runs!!!
Workes great for long cable runs. My antenna is on the end of the house, and the coax enters at the middle of the house. I have three TV's in the house and the one farthest would only pickup 17 channels. Now with the amplifier installed all three TV's will pick up 56 local channels!!

Dans ma région le signal est très faible et j'ai du ajouter un deuxième booster et maitenant la télé gratuite entre a 100% de force de signal.

Funciona bien lo único es que se filtra un poco de ruido no se si sea la cálidad del coaxial
