No need for multiple hand exercisers! Strengthen the muscles of the hand and forearm that close the hand for gripping, as well as those that open the hand and spread the fingers. It facilitates full range of motion through flexion and extension. Easy to use and comes in three strengths. Medium is great for activities where hand and finger strength are important. Color varies according to resistance. Printed instructions included.

Works good. Ball could be bigger.
I have used the standard squeeze only grip strengtheners for years. This is far superior. I can get my entire forearm burning. I consider myself an average athletic male and the red ball isn't hard to squeeze. The finger loops are tight as many have mentioned but I don't think it could work if they weren't. If you are getting good extension, the loops stretch open and allow for circulation. If you sat there just squeezing the ball I'm sure it would cut off circulation. My only gripe is that the ball is a little small. I can't get my pinky and thumb involved in flexion very much. And I have to drive my fingers into the ball instead of just squeezing it. But it definitely works and I will keep using it.

Cuts off the circulation to my fingers
Love the concept. However, as others warned, the band loops around the fingers are too tight and they turn my finger tips blue.

I Might Come Out of Bowling Retirement!
One day I took my son bowling. I bowled better than ever, sending the ball down the lane with strength and accuracy... not my normal bowling. But somewhere in there, I threw the ball so hard I thought I broke a finger. I talked with my doctor who said I probably just strained the tendon (or something in there). He suggested that I get a Handmaster Plus and begin to exercise my hand and fingers.I received the Handmaster Plus and started exercising my hand. I did this for about a month and found that my pain went away and my strength came back. This is really simple to use... you put your fingers in the black holes and go back and forth between pulling your fingers out and then squeezing the ball. So easy.I felt stupid having hurt my hand like this, but the Handmaster got me back on track. I might even come out of bowling retirement!

very helpful for tennis elbow
I had been suffering with tennis elbow for almost a year and had 2 cortisone shots. When I got no relief from the 2nd one, my physician said I should go for acupuncture, which helped a lot, but my acupuncturist said that my hand was very weak and I needed to strengthen it, so I went online to get hand strengthening exercises and came across the Handmaster Plus. I have been using it for a few weeks now and I can really tell that my hand, fingers and arm area are much stronger. I can lift my Brita water pitcher without fear of dropping it or pain now. The finger pieces come out occasionally when I 'm using it, but I just put them right back in- it's no big deal.

Not Recommended if Hand Weakness
The size is appropriate but it is not useful if you have hand or fingers weakness. The ball is way too hard and difficult to squeeze and putting the wrapping rings on the fingers is extremely difficult.

Squeezing a ball is fine, but moving the fingers outward works the muscles ...
If you need to strengthen your hands for a sport or you are rehabiliating your wrists or have carpel tunnel syndrome, etc. then get this ball right away. It works the muscles both ways. Squeezing a ball is fine, but moving the fingers outward works the muscles in the way that really strengthens and improves your muscles. I am a golfer, drummer, and typist. I use my fingers and hands a lot. Do your hands a favor; buy this ball. You might have to replace the rubber insert from time to time, but they are inexpensive, and so is the ball. Cheaper than surgery, by far! Do the work with this ball and you might avoid having surgery. I did.

Useful for RSI
This is a replacement for the one I tired out. I get occasional RSI in my fingers and using this helps alleviate the condition. No complaints about the old one, I got my time out of it and worked it hard. A bit pricey, but it works and if you have RSI you don't mind a bit of expense.

handmaster plus
I chose this item as i have weak wrists and sometimes painful ones, i was recommended this to exercise the muscles in my hands and my tendons. I think the product is easy to use but there is no suggestion as to how many times you should repeat an exercise, although i only used the ball briefly in each hand 10 squeezes and open fingers) i was in alot of discomfort later on that evening and had to take anti inflamatory tablets. I think maybe i should have started on the lightest of the handmasters as the elastic is quite strong and it was too much for me even though i didnt think 10 repeats was very much. Also only just squeezed my fingers in the loops - not sure how a man would cope with the small holes, might cut the blood circulation a bit!

Its expensive but I thought it would fit the bill ...
Its expensive but I thought it would fit the bill and help my rehab after an operation. However the key element , the finger loops, which make it different from other cheaper bits of kit are simply too small and impossibly difficult to get over your fingers. Cant understand why they have done this. I have small hands and it doesn't fit me ........!
