I love this workout
I love this workout! I use it mostly for core strengthening, but don't let that fool you. If done correctly I sweat a ton and it is a lot of fun. I've always wanted to learn hula because you don't need a partner, it's a beautiful dance form and you can do it almost anywhere. I have noticed some visible changes in my body since starting to do these dvd's regularly. I also do step aerobics and my hamstrings were stronger - hula involves quite a lot of leg strengthening. I enjoy the music played during the dance workouts. Kill has a wonderful manner of explaining things and she is very encouraging without being fake. I always smile (and she does too) when she says, "progressive bun burners" and then there's a thunder sound effect. :) I like both workouts equally, but it took me longer to figure out how to make the moves in "Abs and Buns" really work the areas they target. The professional dance performance included on each dvd is amazing and Kili's performances incorporate some of the moves from the video which makes them extra fun to watch. Worth every penny.

Fun work out.
I am actually buying this again as I loaned out my set and never got them back (grrrr). Last time I did this, I really enjoyed it. Don't get me wrong, your arms WILL hurt when you start this as you have them in the upright position for a good bit. You *will* work up a sweat -- even though this is low impact. I will admit, I liked the Abs and Buns before the Cardio, because the Cardio was harder. But guess what....it's good for you! I like to switch out DVDs and do Abs & Buns one day then Cardio the next, to keep it interesting. Some of the moves were very difficult, to be honest, and took me at least three or four workouts before I got them, but that just makes it for an interesting challenge.I had been doing this workout for about 3 months when I went to Hawaii -- guess which h'aole didn't look like an idiot at the luau hula lesson.

Beautiful, relaxing, and a good workout
I wanted something relaxing and fun to ease into working out after having my baby....who is actually a toddler now (when I said "ease," I really meant it).I love this 2 disc set. The hula workout is very basic , and Kili spends a lot of time showing the basic steps and incorporating them into the routine. The choreography is easy enough to follow that even a not-so coordinated person such as me could get it after the second time. It's deceptively easy...after I had mastered the steps, I thought for a minute that I needed to find something harder. Then, I realized I had been concentrating on the movements while neglecting the actual form. Do the steps in the RIGHT way, with knees bent, back straight, core engaged, and bam--there's your workout! After doing this workout 4-5 mornings a week for the past month or so, I've noticed an improvement in muscle tone in my butt and thighs, and my abs as well, without doing crunches.Other things I love about the series:-Kili and the two other girls are fit, beautiful, and realistic--not annoying at all.-The beautiful outdoor Hawaiian setting: it really makes it enjoyable to do early in the morning for me to see sunshine and water, instead of some cheesy studio.-I can work out and I don't even have to put on shoes!

two dvd's in one package
the picture Amazon shows is old, there are two dvd's in one package. I have used both.. I have been doing workouts since October 2019 that are a lot fast than this.. but... Most of the ones I have and use work different muscles than then Island Girl... oh, yea may be slow.. and easy.. but a different work out here! So I use a B. Blanks work one day and then either island girl work out both are good .. different muscle groups or different movements.. The ladies in this dvd are out side on a lawn on a workout platform, the ocean behind them is nice and looks warm.. a mood booster too.

Fun workout, but hard to follow
It's a fun workout, but she's not a good instructor. It's a bit hard to follow like other reviews had said. I figured I'd take the risk since it's slightly different but along the same lines of belly dancing workouts (which I love). And it's nice to have a different routine and something a bit different. But it is a bit hard to follow with camera angle changes and little instruction on some of the moves. May take a few times of trying and watching to catch on to the moves, but it's a fun workout.

Whew!
I have taken Hot Hula classes and have an Anna Rita Sloss dvd. This workout is great. I don't know if I could have done it without having learned hula first. I probably would have gotten frustrated. Excellent work out. Also great for heavy people or people with bad knees that need a low or no impact workout. It is fun and the music is drumming so it doesn't get irritating. There are 2 dvds so I can switch back and forth if I get bored which I doubt I will. I love these workouts.

Fun workout
I bought this DVD set after buying and liking the 'Hula Buns & Abs' DVD from the same series. I am by no means a dancer, but I find it enjoyable to pretend to be a hula dancer; and the workout has a really relaxing setting near the Hawaiian coast. There are some funny things Kili does like adding a bounce to "get into the hiphop groove", but that dance is by no means hiphop. There are some moves in the dance that I don't think I'll ever be able to do in my lifetime, but it's comical to try. My only qualm with this DVD set versus 'Buns & Abs' is that Kili doesn't spend as much care teaching the moves well, yet spends way too much time teaching the most basic move. Again, Kili involves the same background girls, who I really enjoy- They look healthy and strong, but not super 'fitness instructor' buff. Overall, a very fun way to burn some calories when you don't like working out or don't have a lot of time.

Great Fun Workout
If you're looking for a fun cardio work out that's a little bit different then this is a good choice. The three ladies leading the workout first teach you a series of moves based on the Hawaiian Hula (but also include classic aerobic workout moves). Each move is practised several times after being taught. All the moves are then strung together to create a dance. The dance is also repeated several times and will certainly get your heart rate up if you go for it. Set against a beautiful island background, this DVD is great fun.The principle teacher is very upbeat and will encourage you to keep going even when you feel like slowing down. If you're expecting a step by step guide to traditional Hula this is not the DVD for you. Equally, if you're someone who runs on a treadmill for hours everyday this may not be enough of a cardiovascular workout for you. But for someone wanting a good cardiovascular workout with moves that will help tone your tummy and bottom, it's excellent.

Inspiring, watchable and enjoyable.
Not having heard hula dance advocated as an effective workout before, I bought this double DVD pack partly through curiosity about a dance form I hadn't tried, and partly tempted by the low price. Any preconceptions I had about hula dancers being rather plump ladies in grass skirts were soon dispelled; if the dancers on these two DVDs have achieved their perfectly toned torsos through hula dancing, then it must have something going for it. As the blurb on the DVD covers explains: "Hula is a graceful Hawaiian tradition that combines hip movements, footwork, and hand motions to speed up your metabolism and tone your entire body." "Hula is Kili's favorite way for sculpting hard abs and tight buns."The pack includes 'Hula Abs and Buns' and 'Cardio Hula'. In each of the two workouts, Kili starts by showing the complete dance which you will learn; the workout then begins with a warm up and moves on to seven basic hula steps (some of which feature in both workouts) which build up into a dance routine; once you have learnt all the steps, you have the chance to perform the complete dance before the cooldown section. For more relaxed viewing, you can sit back and watch Kili in performance. The idyllic-looking Hawaiian scenery with a gentle breeze blowing through it is uplifting, and the slim, fit dancers are inspiring. The movements are fairly gentle and can be comfortably performed in an average-size sitting room. The DVDs are very watchable and the workouts are enjoyable. Whether they really lead to abs like Kili's remains to be seen, but if nothing else the relaxed beachfront setting is soothing for frazzled nerves!

☆ Cardio Hula with Kili☆ Hula ABS & BUNS with Kiliどのシリーズもwarm up含めて30分程のworkoutです。
