Works pretty well! Wear gloves.
Pretty good! A tad too blue as some have noted compared to the unsprayed grass but it’s pretty close. I have Tuttle mealybugs in my zoysia grass and have tried everything for 6 months to get rid of them. It’s cooling off so they’re slowing down but I am SO SICK of looking at the dead patches they left behind. This helps! I actually used my battery operated sprayer that comes with my DIY PESTIE home insect spray. Worked great. Stained a few things like my shoes and my countertop (wear gloves!) but a magic eraser removed the stains, with no problem. Cat did walk through it about 2 hours after and got green paws so it does take more time to dry than 2 hours FYI.

Love this product so far.
Well I normally read all the reviews when trying out a new product and pay pretty close attention to the bad ones. I decided to give this product a whirl anyway and have to say I wish I would have known about this a long time ago. I am trying to figure out why the bad reviews, many said they only got like 28oz instead of 32, this product is very heavy, mine weighed closer to 48 oz then 28 ? As far as killing grass I can't figure out that one either, there is a difference between killing grass and having really brown grass that has simply went dormant. We water our grass very sparingly and developed lots of brown spots and brown edges. I notice the neighbors have same problem and water more then I do. Sometimes it's because sprinklers don't water perfectly or miss an area. You can get some sun scald also after we had over 100 degree temps. I wanted to use this just to blend in the brown spots and edges. I honestly couldn't believe how well this product works. I only used about half the rate it recommends, it does look a little too bright right away when you apply but looks great once it dries which is just a few minutes. Once you get used to applying it and if you take your time you can really blend it in very well. My wife could not tell where I had used it from real grass, bought 2 more qts just to have on my shelf for future use.

Good in a Pinch
I bought this product as a last resort. About two weeks before a wedding shower which was to be held in my back yard I decided to feed the lawn to make it look good, well my spreader was apparently broken and was dropping a thin line of fertilizer straight down... The end result was a backyard which looked like a football feild because of strips of burned grass. With no time to spare I looked a bit online and bought this product. I received the product promptly and I was anxious to see if it would work. The bottom line is that it does do what it is intended to do, it paints (or dies I suppose) your lawn a relativley realistic color of green. Does it look real, no ofcourse not, especially not on close inspection, what grass looks good when its dead flat and painted green. But thats not the point, it worked because it did what I wanted it to do and it greatly minimized the noticeability of the dead grass lines, especially when standing level with the lawn (as opposed to looking down on it from a deck). I was able to make a little over 4 gallons of the lawn paint per the instructions, I wish I could have made more given the pretty steep price of over $20 (but I was in a pinch), unfortunately I only patched up about half my lawn so I decided to buy 2 more Envirocolors just to be on the safe side, and here is where things took a turn. I received my second batch promptly, but since I had gotten 2 this time I immediately noticed that one bottle was full to the brim and quite heavy, while the other was about half empty and much lighter. This really didnt make me to happy since I paid over $60 (with shipping) for two bottles of over glorified food die. So in conclusion, the product works, it's not a miracle worker but if your in a Pinch it will help, im giving this product 3 stars however for the half empty bottle I received. I have not yet tried to contact the company about this.

Love my green lawn!
This is the same stuff they use at the local golf course. I posted a before and after picture (I have two sections like the lawn section in the photo so probably close to 800 square feet FYI) - and I could have gone full emerald green, but I kept it rather "light" which I thought was a little more realistic looking. I read a lot of reviews here and the tips & comments helped me so I hope that this review will help you too. Unlike many reviewers - I had NO problems with gumming up or clogging BUT I followed the directions and shook the bottle REALLY well. Make no mistake, this is paint, like really thick paint, kind of like the consistency of watery yogurt (!) so shake it really good. Then, it tells you to fill the sprayer first with water and THEN add the product. I think this step is very important. I used the Chapin's 2 gallon sprayer with "sure spray Anti-Clog filter for clog-free spraying" (which I bought here on Amazon) and which may have also helped eliminate clogging. After I added the paint to the 2 gallon water filled container, I shook it (really good), like instructed. Then, as I painted the lawn, I kept shaking it every few minutes thinking that would prevent the product settling & potentially causing a clog . The anti-clog mechanism at the end of the tube in the sprayer may, indeed, have helped too. When it came time to refill the container, even though it hadn't clogged, because of all the reviews about the sprayers clogging, I went ahead and rinsed out the spray tube and the little "anti-clog" attachment, then refilled it with water & added paint again. OK, a few more tips... The container is not that big! 32oz sounds like a lot but it says to use 6-12 oz per gallon! I did not want to run out and I'm frugal (aka cheap) so since the instructions say to paint the lawn twice going vertical and then horizontal, I decided to err on the side of too little rather than too much. So I used 6 oz per gallon. That was plenty!!!!! (May also have helped prevent clogging.) The second time for the second coat, being the cheapie that I am, I only added 8oz to the whole 2 gallons of water. It actually seemed fine! And now I have 12oz left for future use! Now don't forget what some reviewers have said! This is paint and will stain you, your shoes your hands the cement- everything! In fact it seems to stain more & quicker than regular paint. So I wore bags on my feet, gloves, paint clothes and then I used a big piece of cardboard to block to "mask" the edges (see photo). Have water and a rag handy to wipe up a spill asap. I highly recommend treating the lawn like you're painting a wall. Do the trim first - which I did (going around the lawn with a big piece of cardboard to block overspray) and then you can just paint the inside without worrying about overspray. If you go slow and close you can literally paint the lawn emerald green. I went fast with wide strokes 2-3 feet back and forth and went with a light coat. Then the second coat was the same but doing my strokes in a different direction. I could have used my leftover paint and gone for a third coat but I was fine with the way it turned out.

Green up your yard without using the water.
Easy to use, but I took off the "nozzle" on the spray wand. This paint is thick and you will spend way to much time cleaning out your nozzle so just take it off. Order more than you think you'll need if you want it to blend in well. Super easy to mix. Very happy with the results. I used it in preparation to sell a house. It even fooled the home inspector! Make sure you have at least two days of dry weather (I did) but would have been disappointed if it had washed away. It warns you of that on the directions. It has since held up to a very hard rain storm and still looks great. Good value and easy to use. Have fun.

Takes a little practice
After using too much weed killer for lawns, I ended up with patches of dead grass the color of straw. The dead spots were mostly devoid of grass and pulled focus.. i needed my grass to be green in time for a neighborhood special event and an influx of visitors. I researched several brands of grass paint and decided on this one. None seemed a clear choice based on reviews. I read and followed the directions. I watched videos on YouTube. I said prayers to not let me duck it up. As suggested, I used a battery powered sprayer to apply the product. A hand pump would be impractical. It takes a little practice to get it right. You will need to fine tune the sprayer to dispense the right amount of product. Yiull need to practice in order to find the best angle to hold sprayer nozzle, the correct distance from the grass and the correct amount of time making each pass. If the nozzle moves too slow, is too close or angled poorly too much paint will dispense and create an unnatural vivid green spot. It also takes practice to understand the best technique apllyimg to dead spots vs grass that’s just not green. Hot tips: Practice in the backyard first. More practice means getting a more natural appearance. More practice means more paint consumption. Consider buying an extra bottle. I was confident I could do it with one bottle only to order a second. Don’t apply if it’s dewy at night. Best applied when it’s sunny and 72 outside. Don’t apply if it’s breezy. Use cardboard strips weighted down w bricks or a drop cloth to protect from overspray. Don’t apply too much at once. Achieve desired shade of green with several lighter coats. Read and follow directions on bottle. They are helpful, true and accurate. Once the dead spots were green it looked very uneven and obviously artificial. It required more paint than expected to blend everything together. Wear vinyl gloves. Clean sprayer after use so it can be used again. I ended up with some overspray on myself and on parts of sidewalk & curb. I easily cleaned up with soap, water and a scrub brush. The overspray on cement cleaned up w a pass of the pressure washer, but not with soap and scrub brush. The overspray on the house came off with 409 and a scrub brush. Neighbors gave thumbs up and I received many compliments about how green and gorgeous my lawn looked. That was satisfying and made the effort worth it. The grass still looked good for about 4 weeks and thru several mowings. I may paint it again based on the positive feedback. I’ve pondered turning off the irrigation, letting it die and keeping it green with the paint.

second batch was better but not perfect
I had to purchase twice as first batch would not dilute or mix correctly, second batch was better but not perfect, had to use an electric drill and plaster mixer to get the paint mixed well enough for the sprayer. The supplier in the US were prompt to respond but said they had not had any issues. I recommend you treat with caution as there may be a contaminated batch at Amazon's distribution Center.
