Abolitionist Pastor and God-empowered Witness of the Full Gospel of Jesus Christ

In our day of increased racial tension and sensitivity, every white Christian should read this biography. And perhaps, following our repentance, the Holy Spirit of God will use us in a very small measure of what she used the saintly William Seymour.Dr Edward B GrossCompassion for Life missionary

    An Excellent and Balanced Read

*by N***I on Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2020*

An excellent and balanced reading of the life of William J. Seymour from the outpouring in Asuza St. to his disappointment and death. Martin has cited his sources, which are many, but at the end of every chapter he has included photographs. We are taken from before Asuza street to Seymour's parents and the times they lived in, to the fateful outpouring of the Spirit on the small congregation, to its overcrowding growth and spread, until Seymour's disappointment and lonely death.Seymour was a man ahead of the times. In the midst of a racism that lynched black people of whatever gender or age for whatever reason, Seymour's Apostolic Faith Mission involved mixed races holding hands and worshipping together. However, white racists were continually trying to take over the Mission. Apparently, white Christians could not accept a black person, and a black person with one eye, lead the movement that spread like wildfire in America and touched the world, practically from its inception.

happy with product but NOT happy with Amazon

*by W***M on Reviewed in the United States on November 24, 2010*

I am completely content with my purchase but I have to say, I don't think I want to make any more purchases from Amazon in light of some of the very disturbing content they have recently allowed to be posted for sale on their website. (Basically pedophilia 101, how horrible....)I completely believe in the right to free speech but I also believe in the right to say, please don't say that here. As a business, I think it is appropriate to have a standard of what you are "ok with" and "not ok with". I understand that if you start saying, "you can't have this" then someone else wants to say, "well then you can't have that". SO the problem becomes, where do you draw the line?It is difficult in a culture that currently has no moral compass, to set a standard of what it right and what is wrong. In fact, people are often saying what is good-is bad and what is bad-is good. There is this vain philosophy in our culture today that parades it self around as "tolerance at all cost" but may I ask, is that really helping people become the best people they can be?Is it possible that the problem is really a lack of "goodness"?I know it's good to let people make their own choice, choice is part of what makes our country great and the God of our country great. But our choices have consequences...
