Awesome spoiler.
This reel winder is awesome. Built tough. Durable. Solid. Great for spooling up and holding positive tension. Easy to assemble. I just wish it had a reel mount. I used a dumb bell to hold it down and it worked perfect. Good job, Penn!👍😀

Excellent Quality Winder
This thing is awesome - and it's built to last forever. Heavy gauge steel construction. You can easily use both big and small spools. The drag adjustment works great to keep some tension on the line while you are winding it. This winder is very heavy and with the rubber feet on the bottom, it easily holds in place without any clamping (even when winding with some tension on the line). (in case it matters, this is made in China, not USA).

Awesome from 3000 yard spools to 1" wide leader spools, flawless
Awesome spooler, I've been fishing for over 50 years, I 've made my own spoolers, bought the nonsense, used a friend and a screwdriver. This spooler is impressive and simple, has enough weight, to not tip or pull or fall. You can tension the spooler to your requirements. I've used it on bulk spools of 3000 yards down to the pic there a 1" wide seaguar leader. Worked perfect. Get this thing if you're a real fisherman and respool regularly.

Loading up a reel now easier
Over all a good device. Way over priced but does a better job than any other device that I have used. I have only used it with braided line and only with power pro or suffix 832. The smaller spools 150 -600 yds are a bit more work to do. I had to keep adjusting the tension on it to keep the line tight on reel. The best spools i used were the 1200 yd suffix spools. They have a shallow indentation on both sides that fit the tension cones perfectly. Once I set the tension it stayed set. It’s still not fun to load up 400+ yards of line but cheaper than having a store do it to multiple reels. It will also give a good idea of what it’s like to recover a lot of line from that one that didn’t get away. You can probably build something that would work as well but I am not that inclined to do so

A must have for spooling reels!
I used to use a cardboard box with a pencil through it and tension the line by squeezing the box and/or wet cloth holding the line to the rod. It works but is kind of a pain. After respooling a few rods, I decided to try this Penn line winder out. Wow, was it so much easier. It took probably 20% of the time and wasn't as awkward or painful on the arms. I used a 3000yd spool of 50lb braid and a 500 yd spool of 60lb mono. They both fit and worked flawlessly and I really liked how you can set the tension simply by turned the wheel bolt tighter or looser. I was worried it wouldn't stay on my dining table and I would need to clamp it down or something. However, it has rubber feet and a bit of weight to it that allowed it to stay put without moving at all. I'm really impressed! It seems like an item that will hold up for many years. Kind of like a one and done purchase which makes the price worth it over time by far even if the initial investment seems a bit on the high side.

Great product
I am a fishing guide and this helps soo much in the spring when I have to spool 25+ reels. I can throw on a 2000 yard spool and be done with it for a while. It is extremely heavy but it keeps it from "walking" as you spool your reels. If you are using 100 or 300 yard spools you do have to thread the nut on for a long time, but it works great with adjusting the nut to how much tension you want for the reel.

works very well for spooling electric reels.
This thing works very well. I applied some drag grease to the drag washers that come with it, and it holds the tension very well when spooling. I mainly use this to spool shimano electric reels that requires certain tension maintained during the spooling process. no other tools for less than $100 can do the job like this one. just buy it.

Worth the money for serious fishermen
Very simple, this Penn line spooler is worth the money. I bought a cheap 25$ overall pick line spooler on here and the only thing good about it was the pliers it came with! It broke in my hands spooling 6lb line and couldn’t fit medium to large line spools. On this bad larry of a Penn product I’ve spooled many kinds of line but not metal wire because I haven’t needed too yet and I think it can. I used it on different sized small-large length, diameter, and width line spools and on a bunch of reels like conventional, spinning, bait casting, fly, spin cast I mean it seems like it can handle pretty much all reels. I haven’t tried it on my Penn international 80vsiw but I bet it can be done. The design is pretty cool, you can adjust tension on it so you can lay down your line on the reel for a nice and tight (clamp this sucker to something for bigger reels) also it folds up so you can bring it with you when you have an emergency on a fishing trip which happened 2 times already for me. If you fish religiously or all types and styles, fresh or salt, this is what you need!

Pleased with purchase.
Very heavy but works well.

Drag mechanism is not smooth and causes uneven line tension on the reel.
I purchased this Penn line spooler to spool a 50w reel. I setup the Penn line spooler according to the instructions, installed a 1500 yard spool of 80lb braid line, tensioned the braid using a drag scale to get the correct tension on the 50w reel and was met with a jumpy drag mechanism. The drag would be tight, then loosen, then tighten repeatedly, which caused the line to have uneven tension. The other problem is that the drag washers wear astronomically quickly, leaving your bench with black carbon dust.

Finally, a spooler that works
This is a great product. It is well made and heavy so it does not move around. I currently have a 7,200ft spool on it but this will work with a 300ft spool just the same. The tension nut and drag washers work perfect to put as much or as little tension on the spool as you want. Plus it just simply looks cool sitting on my fishing bench. It's not the cheapest one but it is the best one.

ottimo imbobinatore
L'imbobinatore è pesante e solido in quanto tutto in metallo.
